Dangers Held within?

Hello All.

Was hoping to get the collective knowledge out there to share their concerns of this exploration and it's possible dangers.

So far, I've not had the feeling of malign forces or dangerous entities, yet I've read on many posts that folk have had quite scary experiences. Feeling that your heart has stopped beating, your lungs have ceased to operate and that your being taken away. My lady herself has felt the presence of entities that scared the life out of her and put her on edge regarding the subject.

What should i be cautious of during these journeys of the mind? I feel that I'm not too affected by these visions as i know that what we see in our day to day lives is but a thin veneer of really, but I respect the substance and would like to know of pitfalls that others have encountered.

Anyway, happy living

just keep you're witts about you're self...never blindly follow any being anywhere, wheather on DMT nor not. They are not gods. Smile and enjoy the ride. Dont fight it though, just know you are love and light.

About the "heart stops beating" or "lungs cease to operate" stuff: for me, the only way to get over these was to accept the possibility of death on the trip.

Ye just smile, NO harm can be done whilst in your journey, only harm that can be done is by yourself.

Happy days

Breathing and heartrate can be worrying but I'm informed its completely fine and just due to time dilation and general trippiness making everything seem different. Indeed SWIM is told his breathing is completely normal when he is under, even when in the past he was worrying about it. Heartrate does increase but as long as you're not at risk of heart problems its probably no more dangerous than a rollercoaster. It probably feels worse than it really is because you're tripping. Such worries can dissipate when you get more used to the experience.

As for beings harming you etc, SWIM has only ever put love and respect in and has only ever got love and respect out. He therefore believes there can be only two explanations: 1) you get out only what you put in yourself, 2) entities punish people they does not consider worthy! Obviously 2) would be pretty egotistical of SWIM, so he thinks 1) is most definitely the answer!

I say go in believing you cannot be harmed, and no harm will come of you. SWIM just surrenders, and goes with the flow, and always has a good time. He has noticed that beginners who try to control and direct the experience can freak out. Maybe leave such experiments until you are more experienced.

I agree with the both posts above.. In the end, it all depends on your beliefs and how you want to interpret everything. I also dont think any harm can be done unless you do it yourself.

SWIM had experiences where entities seemed 'angry' for some reason, but SWIM wasnt scared.. just dont identify with it, take it as a ride, with ups and downs, scares and laughs, but its all just a ride (albeit a very deep and mind-bending one hehe). :)

Also as you can see in the FAQ, physically its pretty safe, and also in terms of long terms effects, as you can see in the links under the answer..

I think that, as ohayoco said, what one puts into the whole experience can have an effect.. So just go with a positive mindset, have good intentions, know its a ride, dont identify, and learn from whatever comes, whether at face value it seems positive or negative :)

A friend recently had an experience germane to this discussion:

He has used the spice on and off over the last decade, usually in breakthrough quantities and thought it was time for another sit down with the gods as he puts it. This time however he had what he describes 'bad' 'dark' 'too much too fast' etc. On vaporising a small amount (probably less than 20mg of orangey brown sugar like spice) he was instantly taken, 'no in between places, just whoosh and they're taking me and showing me things'. As soon as it kicked in he heard an insistent electric throbbing which accompanied the arrival of reptilian creatures largely formed of these sort of shapes < in green and gold which were up close and personal and determined to show him their wierd geometric manipulations, but 'too much, too fast'. While his mind was occupied with this he was incidentally still conscious of the room he was in and the people in it, to the extent of being able to interact with them verbally and physically; this however had no effect on what was going on inside. He found himself unable to let go and appreciate it, therefore finding it unpleasant. There was a lot more to it, but on talking to him that was the general gist. However after probing for a bit he said that they still weren't menacing or evil in any way, just not specifically welcoming and didn't seem to care if they were overloading him so to speak.

Incidentally his girlfriend took some afterwards and had a rather traumatic experience of feeling as if something heavy was sitting on her chest while she was being separated into her components and dissolved while an overload of patterns flew through her at uncomfortable speed; as it faded she did however still want to go back in heh.

I just thought it's an interesting illustration of experiences which another person in a better mindset could have taken as wholly positive, and also that even those with a long history of use and a lot of experience under their belt can still be caught off guard on an off day.

This feeling is usually forced upon me on all my deap journeys. The feeling of death. But then I am miraculously reborn. No physical harm can be done.
