dark liquid residue in pipe

There was about 50mg DMT in the pipe, heated up 3 separate times with jet lighter while rolling the stem. DMT crystals were white-yellowish before heating.

What is the dark liquid residue in the pipe after heating?
Was some of the DMT burned?
Was it an impurity in the DMT? Something else?

Also, more context: extraction was primarily Norman's STB process. 4 pulls of 50g mimosa yielded about 250mg. Product was not mixed with anything. just taken straight. Most, but not all of the DMT vaporized.

Looks like polymerised DMT - is it actually liquid or are you judging this by the shape of the droplets alone?

There is also a high likelihood that your choice of pipe has led to a little scorching and decomposition. Clean your pipe with acetone or some kind of alcohol, and maybe look into getting a device which uses convective vaporisation, or modifying your pipe this way. There are also all the electronic vaporisation/nebulisation methods to be explored.

And, residue = inefficiency, you'll get more milage from your material with a more efficient method of administration.
