Datura Dosage

My friend will be using datura stramonium to potentate LSH, among other things. He has never worked with this plant so I want to be sure he is safe and works with it properly. I have read on here to take roughly 5 seeds to potentate. My question though is if you read the Erowid Vaults everyone takes 200+ seeds! How is this so?
 
Please do not eat 200 seeds. That is extremely toxic and borderline deadly.

I use 3 seeds for denauseation and potentiation. It's all you need. Please believe us and do not push your luck.

There's nothing, absolutely nothing, to gain from datura overdose delirium.
 
It's true. Don't take any risk with the stuff. I don't know what people say on erowid about this and what the explanation for the apparent discrepancy is (maybe they talk about another subspecies of darura or something) but you never need any more seeds to potentiate anything, then the amount of fingers you've got and this could even be the amount of fingers on only one of your hands. stay within that safety-zone.
 
My friend has no intention on going more than 5. I was just wondering how that leap from 5 to 200 - 500 seeds is made. I have heard the horror stories of 11+ seeds so WTF? But if you go the Erowid experience vaults everyone is 200+ seeds. No wonder it has such a bad rep.
 
There is a big difference between the different species. Also one can build quite a tolerance to the daturas. I know one can consume them, till one has forgotten how many or how long ago one had consumed them. Maybe these people are just mad, mad I tell you.
 
SWIM only ever uses 3-5 datura stramonium seeds to increase the effects of LSA and it works well every time. Just don't even think about doing a 200+ dose....or even 50 for that matter :shock:
 
SWIM is very tolerant to datura, he can take 20 without feeling dry-mouth, but 7 potentiated LSH quite nicely.

His first real LSH experience he used cold-brewed coffee (contains acetaldehyde like peppermint) and a capful of vodka before the brew and another capful in the brew. Alcohol decomposes into acetaldehyde to create reliable amount of acetaldehyde in the bloodstream.

it was interesting in a few ways:
it was very distinct for LSA, not sedating, different headspace, shorter duration. Also less intense at the same dose though that could have been the seeds

It was also very distinct from LSD and not incredibly reminiscent of it. It surprisingly went in a much different direction and was actually in many ways mescaline-like. One specific example is that when concentrating on something it is easy to forget you are tripping, that NEVER happened on LSD but happens each time on mescaline.
 
Most of the people who've posted trip reports of it on erowid don't know about using a few for potentiation. In my opinion this is the only way it's useful and maybe it's made to teach people this self-control. but using a few seeds for potentiation is a relatively new discovery and the only info published about it that I've read is on a few good forums.

Was not saying to take 7, though even with that it was still not stimulating, just much less sedating.

Although 7 is likely not even 1/2 psychedelic dose for even the most sensitive, the point was even for those very tolerant to scopolamine/hyoscyamine a tiny non-psychedelic dose was adequate.

Also starting the post with "And kids, don't listen to Q21Q21," makes it seems that the well researched secondary information is false too.
 
I have to say that I think you are one of the more consistently irresponsible posters in here, Q21Q21. You're very casual with the advice you throw around - a lot of which is potentially harmful to those who would choose to take it. I wish you would try and balance your need to be the voice of tripping authority with a little bit of conservativism and an eye toward health and safety.

To the new folks: please don't take 20 datura seeds, boil your solvents over an open flame or take any of the other Q21Q21 "well researched secondary information" pearls of wisdom that you'll find in here to heart. If they appear to be dangerous and counterintuitive... heed your inner voice.

A few datura seeds are good for denauseation and/or potentiation. From 69ron we learned that 10 seeds a day is the safety threshold. So as been told before, just keep it to the amount of fingers you have as a maximum.

The stories on erowid of people using 200+ seeds is of course about people trying to get into a datura delirium (a very dangerous and way too often deadly thing to do) and don't have anything to do with potentiation.

People should also monitor how often then use datura. I have never ingested but I do know that tropanes can build up in the system if taken on a regular basis..so dont be doing this every day even in micro doses..give yourself a week or so inbetween.
 
before potentiating anyting become familiar with each INDIVIDUAL entheogen as to know for yourself what to take

when it comes to datura, be very very respectful of its potential for incredibly powerful and dangerous experiences

i do not recomend you idly "use" datura in a psychedelic coctail as IMHO she may not appreciate such an application. i speak from a perspective that it is a teacher plant, however it is not benevolent, it is just powerful.

some shaman reserve the right to use datura until a patient cant be helped via any other vehicle, this is done because they are aware of its parasitic relationship on the user




on another note, ive done lsh with datura and an even more bizzare myriad of entheogens, however i am familiar with all of them and still have almost gone too far... and im feeling pretty familiar with it too. so just be very very very careful, i would advice a sitter, or atleast someway for you to be checked on.

It's a common myth many people perpetuate out of fear and misunderstanding.
Some people have told me that even the lowest dose of datura is bad, even though chemically we can see that it is medicinal.
Some people even think that if you have datura in your yard you will have relationship problems...!
These are just myths handed down to shy people away from being ^@*$&# by this plant.

im not sure about relationship problems by having a brugmansia tree in your backyard, but i am familliar with the strict attention this plant demands during intimacy, lest she loose your noodles out of spite

what i meant by parasitic relationship was that datura/brugmansia offer a sort of physical rush resulting in often superhuman physical exertion ( like that crazy guy who smokes pcp and takes on 9 cops... you know the one ^^, or like when a mom sees her kid about to be endangered and springs into action regardless the circumstance ) I would also suggest that the teacher has its own particular angle on non ordinary realities if one were to compare it to cacti/dmt/lsX
we have untapped potential that this plant can unlock, however, this plant is known to contain what i consider "baneful" alkaloids, ie scoplomaine, hiscomaine, etc... and thats just the pharmacological assertion of its spirit, im sure it is a spirit, like a wife with infinite insecurities its an all eyes on her show. i have found that my particular shrub dosent like the girls i introduce to her.

Okay Suicybe, maybe it trigger some dangerous behavior with you.
Personnaly when used at safe doses as stated above in combination with a strong psychedelic, SWIM never had any weird or potentially harmful behavior.
That being said, trying larger dose is rather uncomfortable.
I'm trying to germinate some stramonium and will see by myself, but do not expect datura to be parasitic. It is powerful and should be treated with a lot of respect.
It's a sacred plant in many cultures ( associated with Shiva in Hindouism ).
 
My friend just recieved his seeds and was going to test strength prior to combo. Is one seed felt? What can one expect with 1,2,3 etc
 
just saw this really interesting VBS video on Scopolamine... really sketchy.

The nickname for that shit is "devil's breath" in Columbia, because its used like a Ruphy...

turns you into a zombie... and supposedly the CIA uses that shit too...
but then again they have sea sickness patches made of that too
