David Bowie´s space oddity

David bowie, aint that the guy who used to make these terrible, crappy songs like 'china girl'? Yes, indeed. But he also had some briliant moments. Very briliant moments even.
And besides being a briliant song, i can´t help thinking that space oddity is realy about drugs (in a metaphoric sort of way).

If I remember correctly this song can be about his 'relation' with heroin. The countdown could be about shooting the heroin, then after that it starts to work with the euphoric music parts.

Later on in Ashes to Ashes you will hear him talk about Major Tom again; "We know Major Tom's a junkie, strung out in heaven's high, hitting an all-time low".

What's wrong with china girl? That was not a bad song.

Well. I´m a bowie fan and for my idols i tend to raise the bar a little. If it would have been a justin bieber song i would agree that it´s not so bad.
