Probably some evaporation occurred through the mason jar lid. I'd guess it's pretty warm in your neck of the woods rn. Day/night temperature fluctuations create pressure differences that can force vapours out while warming, and draw virtually vapour-free air back into the jar on cooling. Even without that, localised vapour pressure in the jar can drive diffusion even through tiny gaps.
