didn’t realize water washing happened before freeze precip…

hello yall. my buddy is new to this and after his first 50g extract he went ahead and did 3 x 50g extracts together. realizing now he thought you washed after you scraped or harvested. so his perdictament is now that he has about 2% return. what does he need to do to wash it. rookie mistake but that’s okay lessons learned. this is just what he gots, his results and needs to wash it any suggestions i could relay to him. Spice looks real good no need for a sodium carb wash imo. People have varying degrees of success with washes. Some claim it reduces yields others claim it cleans up the spice. However that spice looks perfect and I don't think you need to work with it further.

thanks man. my buddy was very careful with using a 10ml pipette and then when it gets to a certain level he does a switcharow to a digital micropipette 1000ul(1ml)

4th pull i think he might know what he’s doing, he has a question about that little spot of yellow?

Dmt is polymorphic it can and does change colour. It also can oxidise to other colours (dmt oxide is still active). So that's either possibly some plant fats or more than likely just pure dmt.

Green and blue spice is what you want to avoid and I some cases brown as this may indicate lye or solvent additive contamination. Note brown isn't always contamination.

The yellow spot is nothing to worry about. Likely a polymorph as Trip said. If your friend would still like to water wash, he could re-dissolve his spice into a minimum amount of his solvent. Then mix it into warm distilled water(*Make sure the distilled water is warmer than the solvent when washing*), and let the layers separate. Collect the washed NPS layer off and freeze precipitate again.
