Diy flash chromatography ?

Hello.
After watching a short path distillation apparatus with all its heaters and chillers and vacuum pumps, I saw some videos about LPLC chromatography system and compared the investment in hardware and the cost of energy.
From a technical stand point lplc does not appear to be very complicated to acomplish.
Some pumps and a way to detect the eluent and a system of hoses to direct it all with valves.
And a column with silica in it. Bottles of solvents and the sample to process, bottles to collect the eluent.

Have any entusiast build an lplc rig?

Dry flash chromatography always looked to me as though it would be very convenient. I still hope to try it at some point, so it would be great to see someone else having a go with it too.

It's simply a matter of packing a suitable column or fritted funnel with adsorbent and drawing the eluent through into a filter flask (or tube) with aspirator suction. It's apparently even OK to suck the adsorbent dry between eluent batches, which should make use of elution gradients all the easier too.

Harwood and Moody would be the starting point for this.
