DMT as Source Material

I've skimmed the threads are there doesn't seem to be one here in the chemistry section:

1. What are the prospects for "diy" teks that would convert DMT into this or that other tryptamine? Is such a thing even possible (on a "diy" level), and if so, presently available? I know I've read somewhere that there are certain types of food you can feed psilocybin mushrooms which changes there metabolism such that they produce some rare permutation of DMT...

THings like this would be nice to know (or work on, if one could): along with the age-old sought after "bathtub Lucy" recipe which would require nothing more than some HBWR seeds and some easy-to-find Hard Ware store products. (After all, even the strangest reagents can be found in some everyday products, and distillation is probably a cinch)....

Distillation is 'probably a cinch', this suggests to me you've never performed it. In any case you wont be distilling lysergic acid amides I can tell you that much . Forget any ideas about LSA - LSD especially in a bathtub haha nothing has come of that so far afaik the reagents are exotic, conditions difficult, steps many, yields almost nothing so its a no go even for the experts.

DMT is a terrible starting point for other tryptamines. Read up on a bit of chem and you can see that it's not going to be as simple as you make it seem.

Also, why the hell anyone would want a bath tub full of LSD is beyond me. You have to realise the differences between extraction and synthesis chemistry are just two very different things, synthesis especially being much higher on the risk factor.

I'm going to lock this thread for now as talk of synthesis is not something we do here. Also the nature of the particular type of synthesis in question just seems silly to me. DMT is perfect just the way it is
