As someone fresh into journeying with spice (had my first journey last night) I would have to agree with this.

I've had a decent amount of entheogenic experiences before last night, but spice is an extremely powerful tool with it's own flavor. But if you feel that you should warm up with others, then I would definetly recommend it.

Often times, in my experience, these gut feelings will lead you in the right direction.

As for what you could try before hand if you decide to, that'll be your call. See what other entheogens are available to you, and make sure it feels right.
