dmt citrate chemistry

SWIM is trying to produce dmt citrate, and was wondering how many molecules of dmt balance against a molecule of citric acid. you'll have to forgive SWIM, his chemistry is a little rusty.

SWIM is finding fumaric acid to be not so readily obtainable. has anyone found a website that will ship to Canada?

dmt citrate should suit SWIM's purposes fine. SWIM plans to use it for IM injection using the Medijector VISION (Hypospray...) and therefore it should not matter that the salt is hygroscopic.

SWIM would only consider IM/IV if their DMT was absolutely pure with no plant materials left. Sorry dont know the chem...

that medijector looks like a very interesting device though.
 
It is a bit tricky to make dmt-citrate for IM or IV. Any way SWIM may think about doing it safely definitely involves some use of slightly more sophisticated approaches that are prone to going wrong if performed from non-specialists. But it is still doable, yet slightly risky (less risky though in the case of IM)

When working with dmt-citrate one has to take into account that it is hygroscopic and it looks like thick honey. This makes weighting doses accurately difficult. One also has to take into consideration that the injection has to contain the dmt-citrate in some kind of buffered solution. It can be a phosphate buffered solution with or without saline (in which case no pH adjustments are really necessary) or even a citrate/sodium citrate buffered solution in which case pH adjustment to around pH 7.2 - 7.4 is mandatory.

Having tried to think how one would go around these problem(s) I concluded that the dmt-citrate is way too complex to fiddle with. This involves quite a few steps to ensure that

1) the dose has been weighted accurately
2) and it is ready in an already buffered solution
3)...before one filters it through a very fine filter (i.e. 0.2micrometer pore size filter) to sterilise and clean it before injection.

SWIY would be better off finding some fumaric acid that will make steps 1 and 2 way easier, more straightforward but most importantly foolproof.
 
Also you probly don't wanna go IM with dmt. Seems like a waste from reports I've read. Absorption's too slow, you can't really break thru that way. Plus it probly burns like a bee-atch.
Just grit your teeth and draw up a rigful, send it straight into the vein, and hold on to the contents of your bowels! Screw purity, junkies shoot nasty crap all the time.
But seriously, acetic acid gives a nice gooey dmt salt, and the excess evaps, if you really don't wanna use fumarate for some reason.
Extracting into some limonene and salting out with glacial acetate would leave a product that Swim would feel fine about mainlining if he could ever work up the ballz for it. No real chance for any toxic byproducts that way... the acetic goo can be weighed by dissolving it in a little water, then evapping say 1ml of the water, scraping up the goo onto a razor blade, weighing a gelcap, putting the goo in the gelcap, and weighing it again. The difference in weight = amount of dmt in 1ml of solution. Do the math from there.
