DMT immunity?

Anyone ever heard of someone getting no psychedelic effects from VAPORIZED dmt?

A FOAF's friend has tried smoking it on several occasions. A couple of times he had a little bit of a head feeling and once or twice reported a definite body rush sensation.

Now common sense would say his technique isn't right or he just isn't smoking enough. So before SWIM vaporizes 100mg into a bong and hands it to him to inhale (now don't worry SWIM would never to that to a first timer) has anyone ever heard of someone not being able to have the typical effects from vaporized DMT?

He's starting to think there's something wrong with him and SWIM thinks it would be good for him to have the experience.
 
I was about to post the same thing; 6 of my friend's friends experience almost no psychedelic effects, my friend can't work out why.
Their technique is the same as my friend's.
 
I just read on another forum that 10% of the population is immune to DMT.

I find this strange. I don't see 10% of the SWIMs who do extractions on this forum complaining that there extracts will not work on them.

Dying to here more about this. It's so strange.
 
swim has a swiy who smoked 100mg and just felt relaxed - half of that would have blown swim far away.
 
10% seems like a lot; if true I'm glad to belong to the lucky 90%! I wonder if these people also hardly dream?
6 immune friends is mystifying... are you sure they held their breath long enough, it's a waste to exhale smoke! Maybe combine with Rue or Caapi next(?) time.

The cause could be anything: genetic, psychological, an exceptionally active MAO enzyme system, smoking technique... Or: the entities decided not to permit entry ;)

The opposite is also possible: apparently some people need just tiny doses to get there, there's another thread about that somewhere.
 
SWIM has tried twice to send his girlfriend into hyperspace and watched (in utter disbelief) as she took two GIANT lungfuls....held them in.....and had absolutely NO EFFECT!! SWIM took the VG to check for any sign of week spice and broke through on ONE mid-sized toke!!!

....of course....once there, a group of light-beings told SWIM in no uncertain terms, "DO NOT CONTINUE TRYING TO SEND HER HERE. SHE IS NOT READY YET.".... that freaked SWIM right the f out so he made a solemn promise to not spice his lady until her experience of psychedelics was increased. mushroom journey this coming weekend....then maybe some cactus....then....

on a slightly different note: SWIM dreaming is getting absolutely ridiculous...it TRULY is like another world SWIM exists in. SO vivid. SO real. SO LONG!!! the time-line of the dream world is on a par with a day in this world. the spice is having an undeniable effect on this aspect of SWIM's life. anyone else dealing with this??

I thought I had this problem for a while. I was getting no effects other than some very light OEV. The problem turned out to be way too much heat on the spice. It was degrading almost all of it.

Try a different method of smoking. I switched from an Aladin's Lamp to a simple bong and that did the trick for me. Also some drugs are cross tolerant with DMT. Most of the tryptamines and phens (mescaline, MDMA, etc..) will dampen, or completely prevent one from getting effects from the spice.
 
Has anyone got any scientific info on possible reasons for this? It just seems so strange that this could happen.

Did Strassman look into this?

there must be something in there.
 
Ok. Anyone know of anyone who is immune to DMT that suffers from any form of depression? Or even just lack of drive?

My housemate can't get off on DMT. Even at fairly high doses.

Also a dose of harmala which for myself causes visual hallucinations only caused a slight feeling of well-being for him.

I'm thinking judging by what I know of the chemistry of MAO in the human body that this is the only mechanism that can stop DMT from being active.

Also may be less relevant but dream recollection seems to be very sparse, but when dreams are remembered they are told to be quite stressful.

I want to get all over this... very intriguing.

Swim is a relative newbie at this, but he tried vaporizing spice several times and got little effect from it.
He has now switched to sandwiching his spice between layers of parsley in a standard pipe and gets very good results from this. Just try it and see if it works for you. I would be interested to know.

Again, swim is relatively new at this wonderful spice molecule, but he thinks his dreaming at night is getting more realistic and the nights seem to pass more quickly than they used to.
Swim is also surprized at how the actual DMT experience seems to go from an AMAZING space launch to a total dreamstate. Both dreams and the DMT experience seem to be one in the same but the spice is a vivid dream state.

No no no. I mean 50mg vaporized perfectly with no effects. Method is not in question.
 
A friend of my friend believes strongly that this is because the spice chooses who it wants to connect with and when it want to do so. Maybe there's a deeper meaning to all this? SWIM also has a couple of friends who seem to be somewhat immune. That said even posters on this board have said that sometimes the spice rejects them as well. Maybe if some of these people who are experiencing little to no effects will if they give it another shot at a different time in their lives...?

No offense man, but I wrote the exact same thing when it was happening to me. I had blasted off without issue many times and then all of a sudden I was getting NOTHING...or almost nothing. Try switching smoking methods, if just to prove that your method of smoking is not the issue. I've heard of this too many times not to strongly suggest it no matter how good you believe your method of vaporization to be.

AS for the 10% thing, I've never actually MET anyone who couldn't be hyperspaced (unless taking an SSRI or the like) and I've helped quite a few people see the light as have my friend. Out of 40 people 4 of them shouldn't have been able to get effects....but my limited test group showed none of them were immune.
 
Swim isnt immune but he needs atleast 300mg before he even feels decent effects and have never broken through with deamster. He doesnt have depression or anything but also he needs atleast 7g boomers and half a vial to really feel good. Beans dont do nothing for him either. He needs atleast 1g of molly to feel any of that stuff thats why he doesnt bother with it no more. He just thinks he has a natural tolerance to psyches. He has two friends that have a higher tolerance then him even.

I'm definitely there with you antrocles; i've been confusing the dream world for the real world, on one occasion thinking I'd woken up and continued the morning as normal not realizing it was a dream. Very vivid.
Also agree with you on the strange phenomena of dmt seemingly choosing who it wants to reveal itself too, my friend experienced his first "bad" trip straight after trying the 6 other people on it.
Quite strange.
Like I said, their technique is the same as my friend's, so it's nothing to do with not holding it in long enough, or not inhaling enough, or the equipment not being good enough etc etc.
