Dmt in open wounds

A bit of an out there question. I did search but couldn't get the right keywords perhaps.

The question is: has anyone done any experiments or research with cutting the skin and administering DMT into the wound?

I searched the internet also, but didnt find an easy answer. Dont want to type too many incriminating searches.

Would it work?

Hmm, apart from this being dangerously close to self-harm, something I'd really like to not see encouraged on the Nexus, I'd imagine it's similar to IV DMT, meaning you'd still need some MAOI in order to feel the effects from a reasonable dose, no?

I just don't understand why someone would choose precisely that ROA when there are so many other more efficient and less dangerous ROAs.

Aside from the objections by @Nydex , which I share: usually in wounds blood comes from capillaries, where it only flows by diffusion, and blood pressure means it flows to the outside and tends to coagulate. I don't think any significant amount would be absorbed, it's not unlikely that the absorption is actually worse than transdermal as blood would be mainly flowing outside and coagulating.

Don't worry, not about to start cutting myself. The pipe works just fine.

Pure curiosity. I've been working with carpentry and have some small cuts on fingers and hands. While doing a small extraction I managed to get a little freebase into a cut. Aside from a little stinging there was no noticable effect.

I use cannabis in alcohol on wounds. Stings for a second but the alcohol evaporates quickly. And the cannabis is soothing to the skin and forms a sticky layer almost like a bandage. Always heals faster in my experience.

It does have me wondering if very concentrated dmt freebase in alcohol could be used similarly. Goo seems like the right consistency. 😄

You would likely need it to at least be in an aqueous solution in order to effectively move into the bloodstream and in turn, the brain.

However, this is close to IM administration, which Straussman showed is nowhere near as effective as IV.

All the same, stay safe, if anyone is thinking of doing this, don't.

To answer this question, no, you wouldn't need an MAOI, as the administration through IV bypasses the gut and while there's MAO in the blood, it's not enough to completely catabolize DMT, like in the gut.
