Hi,

If you use high amounts of MDMA or DMT either by them selves or dare I say with each other (no need to say that is dangerous)

does eating foods with tyramine cause a negative reaction to the drugs I listed above?.
even though all the papers say its only tyramine that interacts with MAOIS's.

but if your taking massive amounts of DMT or mdma will not that be the exact same as taking an normal dose of meth or mdma with an maoi??...

Thanks.

Hi greenmoss,

please have a look at Attitude Page - Safe and constructive drug talk - using serotogenic drugs such as MDMA with MAOI is a dangerous practice as well as taking "massive amounts" of anything.

Anyway - neither DMT nor MDMA are MAO inhibitors, so there is no interaction with food and the combination of DMT with MDMA is not considered dangerous. MAO inhibitors are a completely different class of drugs, usually not psychoactive on their own.

The MAOI discussed here on Nexus are almost exclusively harmalas, which are selective and reversible MAO-A inhibitors and much safer than full spectrum MAOIs. It is combined with DMT, psilocybin and similar drugs that bind to serotonin receptors. The MAOI here potentiates the drug by avoiding its decomposition. However, drugs that release serotonin are much more dangerous to combine as it can cause serotonin syndrome.

DMT and MDMA effects are uncomparable - it's a completely different class of drugs with completely different effects, though both can produce euforia.

No discussion about meth please...

edit: bah, didn't read the above post properly....
