DMT on ancient aliens?

I'm not a person who watches television, but while talking with friends it came up that the show "ancient aliens" did an episode called "the shamans", I was told that DMT was talked about quite extensively. Like I said I have yet to see this episode, but I'm always concerned about how DMT is being portrayed in the media. If anybody saw this episode and could give a quick review of it for me it would be appreciated, I still can't bring myself to watch it, I just hope they represented the compound in a respectful and factual manor. I know the "David icke" crowd had DMT in their focus for a while, and I was not very happy about that either....

Just wanted to know if any one had any thoughts ideas or opinions regarding all this.

My view of ancient aliens is that everything they put on aliens could instead be put on entheogenic plants, then they would be getting somewhere.

I lost patience with Ancient Aliens when they claimed Leonardo Da Vinci received the ideas for his inventions through dreams (that much is true, at least as far as Leo himself has written) in which aliens transmitted the information to him. I guess it was of great galatic importance that he shared the corkscrew helicopter idea lol. It really did irk me though, that they would attempt to diminish such profound genius by claiming it had to have been provided by extraterrestrials. I'll have to give this a watch and see what their take on this is though. Could be good lol

One to two years ago I was fascinated by Ancient Aliens. Here is a relevant thread that discusses it, and it's only a few months old:

I'm not sure it was a particularly constructive one, but I personally think that intelligent extraterrestrial life is certainly real, just from considering the perceived size of our observable universe. I do also think that they have visited Earth in the past in some incarnation, but it's quite a jump from there to say that they mixed in their alien genes with the human gene pool to form 'advanced' creatures like us, and that the prodigies and exemplary feats of society are all due to aliens.

What happened in the past may be lost forever to us. And while I'm not too into making DMT/aya a public focus, I feel that shamans and E.T. contact could be related like the show supposedly says (I've seen so many episodes I can't even remember specific ones, besides the Manna Machine and the Pyramid Power Plants ones).

The show however is great in that it is centered around questions, like adjhart said in the other thread. They don't make so many claims, and even the intro sequence says, "What if...?" "When...?" It's always cool to consider new perspectives but I wouldn't be so quick to take it as truth.

Why do you think yopo is a binary drug? The Piaroa combine it with vine, but most afaik do not. It is fully active on it's own.

Chacruna is also boiled down to a paste, mixed with tobacco and used as a tryptamine snuff among the Ashaninka according to observations of some who lived among them. This is one method of dieting chacruna. It is described as being a potent, brief DMT experience. Vine is active on it's own.

It's logical to assume that individual effects of the plants were discovered first, and then combinations later - or random plants were experimented with in addition to banisteriopsis species in brews.

Alien contact/transformation is believable under the influence of 5-HT2A or CB1 agonists, yet Ancient Aliens is being cut too fast for my taste. I might get ADHS and/or the dumbs after watching a full episode.

Still have not brought myself to watch it, I'm afraid it's going to be just as nerve wracking as it was to listen to the "David icke" crowd talk about DMT.

I'm actually going to watch it today though.

We don't have fossil mushrooms so we can't say for certain how long they have been here, and his greatest proof, the experience!)

He was pretty much a little of everything. However, I'm not sure I've read or heard of any work he did with plant medicines of the type we most enjoy, since Italy doesn't seem to offer much in the way of entheogens, excluding tropane bearing plants. If they were available though, I'm sure he would have been interested in exploring them, and perhaps he did. There are still many writings of his lost or held by the Vatican and their ilk, who believe they have the right to withhold information from the rest of humanity.

I've always been highly interested in this subject. Fungi are odd organisms and certainly don't seem to neatly fit into our mapping of Earth's organisms. Every year or two, they switch where it is in the tree of life, sometimes an animal, sometimes a plant. My brother attended a community college where he had a professor who was doing research with carnivorous plants, specifically the Venus fly trap and the pitcher plant. Apparently they (at least, the former) are only found in a certain area, out of the entire world, and that particular area happens to be an ancient massive meteorite impact site. I asked if he was implying these plants were of extraterrestrial origin and he just grinned and told me to wait for the book to come out. I'm still pretty eager to get my hands on it.

So this professor is publishing a book on this topic? I would be very much interested in hearing about this professor's findings.

Just because a life form has been here (on Earth) for hundreds of thousands of years does NOT mean it evolved or originated here!

Meteorites and asteroids are known to contain the basic building blocks for life, they have even been shown to produce certain amino acids essential for life as a result of impact!


It's obvious that there is life in the universe, it would be mathematically improbable if earth was the only planet with life on it.

So if this life isn't traveling through the universe in flying saucers, how is it getting around? It must develop a means of interstellar travel or it dies when it's planets Sun dies, Panspermia makes more sense than anything else. Though I can't say for sure that life isn't traveling through the universe in mechanical ships, it very well may be.

I've always said that life is ubiquitous, not precious, in a universal sense. I'm all for the panspermia idea, that of spores or microbes, life of some sort, propagating itself through the vastness of space, using interstellar currents, meteors, comets etc as conveyances. The Venus fly trap plant was mentioned earlier, I've always felt that this is possibly an alien plant, because yes, the one and only place it grows is within an ancient meteor crater in north Carolina. (There are several varieties of pitcher plant that grow all over. I've seen them in California and Georgia in the wild. )

Although some here have pointed out an earlier thread i began in this topic-calling it "not particularly constructive"(ahem, uh well,okay.) But I'll reiterate some of my feeling on this topic. I feel the whole ancient alien debate is at the same time incredibly anthrocentric and incredibly spiteful toward humanity. I mean, on the one hand, a civilization advanced enough to have mastered any one of the conceivable (or not ) methods of interstellar travel would want to contact us, why? We have studied ants on our planet, i would imagine us humans would be similar to ants to such a civilization. I'm sure humanity would be nothing more than passing curiosity, why the hell would beings travel across the galaxy to come help us build things? I know there's all kinds of theories, they power the space ships with earth gold, human feces, whatever. I find it ridiculous. Then again, i,like everyone else, am thinking about this with my puny human mind.
