DMT prisoners in USA?

Migrated topic.

As a law student, I'm writing a paper on DMT law. Is anyone currently incarcerated in the US for DMT possession, manufacturing, or distributing? I can find notice of numerous LSD prisoners, but no DMT prisoners. I can find notice of several DMT labs being busted, but haven't found records of convictions yet. Thank you very much from a sympathetic soul.

It is very rare for there to be a DMT bust unless the person was selling drugs or driving around with a pocket full of MJ/MDMA/DMT (specific case I am refering to).

I am unaware of there being any busts that were looking for DMT. I am aware of 1 bust where neighbors called because they thought the person was manufacturing methamphetamines, but that was an isolated incident. DMT is a VERY LOW priority on law enforcements' list. I doubt you will find much info on this topic.

There is a thread about DMT busts, please look there for your answers.

Hello Chris,

Interesting that you should bring this up - I have many times wondered about just the same question. I do not live in the United States, but I try to keep track of what is happening over there. After all, you have the largest drug scene in the world.

I am afraid that I can't help you out here, I have never heard of anyone actually getting convicted. I know a few isolated incidents where people have been busted, but I have never found a conviction after. However, what I have read, is how the police and other so-called authorities refers to this as a "extremely potent club drug".

Thank you Acolon_5. I've tried unsuccessfully to find the DMT bust thread. Could you provide me with a link?

(According to the DEA website, there were thirty-one federal DMT prosecutions from 1996-2006 and sixty-five state and local DMT prosecutions from 1999-2006. DEA website, “Drugs and Chemicals of Concern: N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)” (2007), http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drugs_concern/dmt/dmt.htm. Also, in the last year, there were DMT busts in Michigan, New Jersey, and Georgia. Can't find convictions though.)

New Jersey state police said they made a larger seizure of the drug known as "businessman's LSD."

State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes said the hallucinogenic drug, known by scientists as "dimethyltryptamine," or DMT, is becoming increasingly popular in the regional club scene.,000.

Troopers seized about 1.4 pounds of DMT from a 33-year-old software engineer... during a Saturday morning traffic stop on the New Jersey Turnpike after the Newark resident was seen driving erratically.

Police said the bust represents the first dealer-sized quantity of DMT seized in New Jersey.

DMT is typically sold for about $200 a gram, giving the seizure a street value of about $127,000.

That was in new jersey, maybe you could see what happened with this, he must have gone to jail.

Thank you Spirit. I've been trying unsuccessfully to find the current status of that case. It was only six months ago so I assume it's still unresolved.

There is a guy who moved to the UK from the states, Casey Hardison, following the massive LSD bust in the states of Pickard et al, and he set up a lab, where he was synthesising a fe different things...he got busted though fedexing some E's to the US...d'oh.

He is a nice guy though, been in touch with hima few times. Not sure how much use this is to you though, as he was arrested for possession of many drugs such as LSD, DMT, 2CB, 5-Meo-DMT, MDMA, and was arrested on English turf, where he is currently a few years into a 20 year sentence :(

Thank you, Bancopuma. I recall reading about Mr. Hardison last year when I was doing informal research on LSD chemists: Pickard, Sand, Owsley, Scully, etc. For this paper, though, I'm trying to find a current US DMT prisoner.

why would you look at the dmt nexus to find a current dmt prisoner...its not like they would be able to come here in prison!

I think he means details about a current DMT prisoner, rather than wanting to speak directly to him.
