Found some interesting ideas from a forum discussing DMT,most of it is speculation but interesting nonetheless, heres a few excerpts:

DMT, as an analogue of serotonin, fits the receptor site but
doesn't work. It just fits in the receptor site and there blocks any
possible serotonin action. Then, more of the brain wakes up, when these
inhibitory neurons are blocked like this.
It's like phenothiazine, Thorazine, a dopamine blocker, is also an
analogue of dopamine, but, it doesn't work, and thereby blocks dopamine.
There are serotonin blockers, like DMT, put in so called "atypical
antipsychotic drugs" whose secret purpose it to make you psychotic, so
that the psychiatric and dopamine blocker industry can flourish at your
expense.
If you want to be freed from the torment of dopamine blockers and
the exploitation of psychiatry, spread this knowledge to the public.

Natural "aboriginal" DMT would wake the brain up more. But, we
also have a muscarinic nervous system, that when excited will override
the inhibitory neurons that DMT blocks, thereby having the same final
effect.

Our parasympathetic nervous system is composed of muscarinic
nerves. These nerves are called muscarinic by their effect being the
same as the drug muscarine.
Scar tissue in the muscarinic nervous system, Shamans' Disease,
will cause stimulation that will wake up the brain like muscarine, DMT,
and LSD. Real witchcraft was stimulating muscarinic nerves physically by
hand.

We know a guy who learned it on the street (due to engraved zinc
disks found on the street)*. He just uses it to reach the euphoria of
perinatal matrix one (see Home - Grof Transpersonal Training for more
information). He onece did it too much and started hearing voices. He
didn't like that, so, he never did it that much again.
However, witches take it further, and, venture into the scary
realm of perinatal matrix two, the Knowledge of Good & Evil. Real
witches use a direct and dangerous method, so that they are known as
"blowers on knots" in the Koran, which is punishable by stoning in
Islamic countries.

Why? In perinatal matrix two the mind gets more powerful to travel
easily to other timelines where one's imaginings are reality.
Traveling in through perinatal matrix one, through two, to three,
is along the fifth dimensional direction.
The further you go in the easier it is to travel along the sixth
dimension, sideways in time, to the timelines where your imaginings are
reality.

Established religions and secret societies have used muscarinic
stimulation for initiation into the "sacred mysteries".
The word "sacred" came from the Sumerian word "zook", which is the
Hebrew "gorun" the G in the Compass and the Square, which represent the
"quadrature of the circle", actually, squeezing a circle into a line.
That's why that even getting caught with this secret knowledge could get
a person committed to a mental hospital gulag.

In the "sacred mysteries" the candidate was put all the way to
perinatal matrix three. Is there any other Hell". The Hindu temples use
"soma" which is muscarine. Crucifixion causes such vagal stimulation
that the victim swiftly goes to perinatal matrix three.
The vagus nerve is the biggest muscarinic nerve in the body. It
was called the "golden bough" in Virgil's "Aenied". In Averness the
witch said, "You cannot enter the Underworld without the Golden Bough".
And, the road to Averness is easy.

"Hell is divided against itself", and there is an eternal war
between the White Right Hand Path and and the Black Left Hand Path. The
Clerics of Azagthoth, of the Black Left Hand Path, distributed thousands
of zinc disks, with the most forbidden secret engraved in them, and
scaled them out their car windows around many major cities in 1972.
Some of these indelible disks may remain in neglected gardens or
wasted fields waiting to wake up a future generation, even if the death
camps being prepared today succeed in killing everyone suspected of
knowing this secret.

That's what all these political shenanigans are intended for, just
to suppress this one little secret of everybody's own body. But, the
forbidden knowledge will surely rise again.

It makes me want to dabble with Amanita Muscaria again .

I haven't played with those in a while though.
I kinda have this form of epilepsy, so they call it but, it's far from normal epilepsy,
which seems to interact with amanitas.

I've always wondered what the true potential of these mushrooms are.
Does anyone have thorough experience with these lil guys?

just wondering about something.. wehn it says "DMT" doesnt fit.. does that mean that maybe another form of the alkaloids, such as not just PURE crystaline dmt, WOULD fit? who would ever know...

not an accurate description at all

first of all, DMT is a 5HT2A agonist, that is its action, among others. it obviously works, or it wouldn't be very interesting. also, 5HT is an excitatory neurotransmitter..not inhibitory. this means DMT is also excitatory.
second, it doesn't act like 5HT reuptake transporter inhibitors; and comparing it to D1/D2 antagonists isn't even a relevant analogy. chlorpromazine is thorazine (phenothiazine is the structure class), a neuroleptic D1 antagonist.it's not an analogue of dopamine.

witches used muscarinic acetylcholine inhibitors in henbane, nightshade, etc.

"Engraved zinc disk" :lol: Sounds valuable indeed I would pulverize it and use it for oxide reduction experiments.

"Real Witches" ? What other kind are there?

Sounds a bit like Joseph Smiths Gold Tablets found in the US that proclaime that Native Americans were a lost tribe of Israel who had been banished to America and turned "Red" as punishment by God.

These tablets were translated using a secret tool seen only by Joeshep Smith who read the gold tablets in side a "Top Hat" wile another recorded his words. This became the Book of Mormon from the church of Jesus Christ and the later Day Saints.

Sounds like a Saturday Night Live Skit to me.
