Does DMT exist outside of earth?

Migrated topic.

I have done DMT several times and have had profound experiences with it. My GF also has tried ayahuasca and said it changed her outlook on life. We both were wondering if DMT is something that is special to earth or if it apart of the entire universe? I tried to do some google searches but couldn't find anything so I am wondering if anyone can point me to research on this. Thanks!

I appreciate all the responses but I want to see some scientific proof that someone has tried to find DMT in extraterrestrial matter. I fully realize that we have not explored a tiny fraction of our universe but I am more curious to hear whether anyone is actually exploring the idea that maybe DMT only exists on earth as we know. So far I have seen nothing.

I do not think that you actually need scientific proof, even though it would immensely help...chances are that if amino acids and other biomolecules can be found randomly in space, then why not dmt? Things can form randomly in the vastness of space and granted, the chances of forming a dmt molecule after, say, a supernova explosion are pretty slim but on the other hand the universe is vast and old.

It is a bit like debating about extraterrestial life;amazing to actually witness it, but again many people believe that, taking into account the age and size of universe, the odds are in favour of live as we know it to have evolved in other planets as well.

Now i wonder why does the op ask such question? What is so special about dmt being only found on earth vs otherwise?

yes its all over outer space , especially near Vega

yes i was there with ellie collecting DMT crystals from the alien beach while ellie spoke to her alien father

the whole beach was made up of dmt crystals

yessssssssssssssssssssssssss

this is all the scientific proof i have for now , for other details into such things you need to watch the movie "contact"

I actually believed everything you said, right up to "you need to watch the movie "contact"" Then i knew i was dealing with a deranged individual.

yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 😁

edit : truth be told the whole universe is made up of DMT , literally all the galaxies , supernova's all the stars are made of DMT , everything is made up of DMT

Recently i saw i video on youtube in which McKenna tells about the messages he has received from the mushrooms. In it McKenna sais that mushrooms are all over the universe.

Some of what is said is scientific fact and some maybe someday.

ps.
also mushrooms are not dmt ofcourse.

Just because "we" haven't found life out there doesnt mean it's not there. "We" (as a human race, though only a US bound "tradition":p ) also riot the day after Thanksgiving for cheaply made electronics and other garbage goods. So, despite our technology, we're not exactly the most advanced species. Sure we've got opposable thumbs, so thats cool I guess all things considered.

Theres probably a planet somewhere out there where its inhabitants are actually allowed to partake in whatever they feel necessary sans evil undertones, where no one hates one another, and where the inhabitants are actually at peace with each other.

Anyway, back to reality. Anyone know where I can find some sweet Cyber Monday week sales? Lolllll just kidding.

riot isn't an exaggeration, imo. Lots of violence in the news every year...someone just really NEEDS that flatscreen, or that really hot toy...I agree that we humans are likely not the most advanced species in the universe. We may be babies in the grand scheme of things

Spores can exist in a vacuum. Imagine a comet-sized mushroom spore asteroid crashing into a young planet ready to house life. That would be cool.

Anyone else think the entire wormhole sequence from that movie is very reminiscent of a DMT trip?

Ya, it very much is. When she had to explain herself after being through that in front of a court and having nobody believe she 'actually' witnessed anything, and having no way to proof it was also very reminiscent of what people go through with DMT. I thought it was very emotional, was a very genius piece of art.

The book contact was written by Carl Sagan. Since all his other work is non-fiction. I suppose he got to express his spiritual side in this work of fiction. The movie does a good job in presenting the right idea because Carl Sagan personally supervised the movie direction. :)

Actually, according to a letter Carl Sagan sent to Warner Bros, he wan't entirely satisfied with the script:

I liked the special effects in the film but the novel is far more sophisticated in every aspect (plot, character development, science) and the story is far more nuanced.

The worst thing about the film is that it panders to religion and seems to place science and faith on an equal footing, which is completely antithetical to the spirit of the novel. Regarding this point, Carl Sagan complained in the letter "Ellie disgracefully waffles in the face of lightweight theological objections to rationalism, e.g. 'God is a hell of an engineer.' Our courageous spokeswoman for the scientific worldview collapses in such exchanges."

Maybe our planet is oozing with a simple organic molecule that would be an alien's DMT. Maybe right now they're wondering if glucose can be found elsewhere in the universe.

No no no, aliens come down to get high on gasoline, but we capture them all because it works well for fuel and makes people money. Much cheaper to capture the aliens and put them into rehab with tax dollars. Ahahaha!:p
