I have done various research on the locations of Acacia in NSW, and have found that accordingly, there are a few trees withing driving distance from my location. However, does having one confirmed tree mean that there will most likely be more in that vicinity?

this is entirely dependant on the landscape and environment...if there are many square km of intact habitat, likely yes..if it is interrupted forest or altered landscape or regrowth then quite possibly no..
it also depends on how common the species is and whether it is native to that region..
acacia research is one of patience and time....
isolated trees should be treated with care so they can continue to re-seed their areas..
