Does the age of the tree effect the amount of the amount of the good stuff inside

Sorry if its in here already but my searches are showing up nil.
I wanted to know if anyone knows if the age of the tree affects the amount of dmt present in the tree?
Especially in the case of acacia obtusifolia?

I'm not sure if there's any literature on this other than some analysis which showed the lack of dmt in young specimens of usually active trees... but there have been some interesting finds indicating that trees may only start developing dmt at a certain age. At a younger age they may only have alkaloids such as simple tryptamine or beta carbolines. Once the trees start producing dmt though I am not sure whether their age has any effect on the actual amount present after that.. I would think it would remain fairly consistent once the tree gets to a certain age

In the acacia analysis thread a young sample of acacia mucronata subs. longifolia was found to contain harmine but not dmt - older trees have been reported to contain dmt though. A similar result was found with acacia phlebophylla which contained no dmt in the very young specimens (I think it was simple tryptamine and beta carbolines found?), but is known in the case of the more mature trees to contain fairly consistent dmt levels

As curiosity, I tried snipping off a bit from a number of my acuminata.
Used about 10g semidry in a brew with rue, definite effects but very mild.
I definitely could have boiled far longer and blended to oblivion.
They are only around 30-40cm tall, no idea what age that would be, as I ordered them as tube-stock of that size.
Will retry in a few months time, once they have grown a lot more, and will report back.

^.. interesting report shane - just wondering, did you use the juvenile or the mature phyllodes? and could you describe the effects?

A very pure, clear headed, but mild ayahausca analog. It was definitely different than just harmala effects.
The emotional waves that I felt, are the real indicator in my books.
I used the mature phyllodes and upper bark (well, if you can call it that).
I simply thought the report might be helpful for those who have many many seedlings like I.
6 months time will be awesome
