Double extraction from MHRB?

Reality is a matter of perspective...
Nexians,

Today is a very sad day indeed as I am in the process of doing an extraction from my last pound of MHRB. As I strain the precious liquid from the fiberous MHRB...I hesitate to chuck the once powdered MHRB in the trash.

Then it hit me....this is it...the final Hoorah! :shock:

Sad indeed :cry: ....but then I thought....:?

"What if I let it dry out and try a second extraction from it....Hmmmm"

Has anyone every tried this? Would it be a waste of time....don't care about the waste of Distilled Water and Vinegar.....

I did a search for this but it turned up nothing...

Anyone?
 
You can STB your already extracted bark. If your initial extraction was effective, this second one shouldn't yield much if anything.

I had this idea as well. My thought was acidify>basify>pull repeat.

For each pull instead of doing a second pull, start the process again. I'm strictly talking about a dry Tek.

The thing is MHRB has a DMT content of 0.8-3%, I think. So if yours contains 1.2% and thts what you get as a yield then that's all that's left.

Right?
 
NICE, i don't know where i read it but i read somewhere that if you leave your pulled mhrb to chill for a few weeks (in an environment where it wouldn't be completely be overcame by mold) you can pull some more goodies out.

sorry, but i'm about to go to bed and don't feel like sifting through 20+ posts about this.

if the solution is not found by my waking i will give it my best

Thanks for all the replies...got the MHRB drying out and will get back to it in about a week....I just know there are some more molecules in there wanting out....:thumb_up:

I will post results of both pulls and total yield...
 
I did a double extraction from 1 kilo MHRB.
I first did an A/B in a big pot with vinegar and water on a low boil 4 hours 5x. Reduced, based with lye and pulled with naphtha. My yield after re-x was just under 9g. So I ran a Q21Q21 tek with naphtha and recovered 3 more grams. :d

I would only do this if my yield is less than expected. I always shoot for a yield somewhere between 1 and 2 percent.
 
Ok...so I finished my initial pulls on my last pound of MHRB. The yeild looks pretty good. I had a bit of an accident during the first set of pulls. Luckily I got about 10 pulls using approximately 175ml/pull of Bestine before the accident. I was boiling water and pouring it on the jug to heat it up before pulling and the Jug shattered :cry:

oops :oops: ...

I haven't weighted it yet...gonna wait til the 2nd extraction is done. Tonight I will be making about 6-8 pulls. Will know if this worked in the next couple of days. Got my fingers AND toes crossed. 😁

Gonna be more carful with the warm baths this time......:thumb_up:
 
considering the way things are now, I wouldnt chuck anything out until its been completely raped.
pull and pull and pull and pull until your pulls yeild nothing.

Alright...here are the numbers....

MHRB Powder - 300 grams

First Extraction Yield - 3.2 grams

At this point I let the Fiber air dry on a cookie sheet. Crushing up chunks as it dried to let the moisture escape as quickly as possible so no mold could establish.

Second Extraction Yield - 950mg

Total Yield - 4.1+ grams

Additional Notes - Both Extractions yielded very white DMT Freebase, Used Bestine to pull. May have lost a little due to my Jug breaking during the first extraction pulls. Learned the hard way...Don't soak jug in fresh boiling water. Pour the boiling water into the luke warm water.

All in all, I felt the second extraction was well worth the effort. I recommend saving the MHRB fiber to do a second A/B extraction. This should last me a while! :thumb_up:
 
Seems like you can spare yourselves the difficulty by using more vinegar water on each acidificaton boil, spending a little more time boiling (or better yet use a PC) it each time, and then doing another acidification step. Finally flush your spent bark with hot water in the end. Combine all the acidified purple dye, filter, and reduce and proceed to add your base. When extracting with NPS, make more pulls with fresh NPS each time.

Prevent mold from setting in. I wasn't able to go right into my 2nd extraction right away. Been busy with College so it took me about a week or two before I got to it.

BTW...why is this the end? The ones who truely vibe with this medicine will always find it, this is how I feel.

Grow it...grow as many DMT plants as you can. Plants will still be available..there is far too many DMT plants out there for anyone to ever controll it..might make things somewhat more difficult but thats not a big deal really. If mimosa goes away some other plant will appear..there is probly hundreds of viable DMT plants out there still to be discovered.

I will bet mimosa will still be available anyway for those who still seek it.

Only the end of my last bit of THIS MHRB. Not the End....

Your correct my friend, there will ALWAYS be another way...

My relationship with the molecule is LONG TERM. It has shown me things I never dreamed of...

BTW, I did pull 2 more times but got nothing.:(
