There's some subconscious dictator that gets to ignore your spice adventures or perhaps deal them into the mix. Its easy for people to use abstract thinking to appoint an experience with a level of importance but it isn't always so, or the bugger who engineers your dream scape might be above and beyond you're self indulgence (now mater how good-meaning they could be)

If I got $100 for every pivotal life changing event that ever happen to me that my dream's totally ignored I would go buy a ticket into outer space or a big house or something.
