Efficiency

Migrated topic.

People keep talking about efficiency and i dispute a lot of it . What is efficiency ? What is efficient ........ as far as chemistry and growing and extracting things goes ?

People say you have to use hormones to grow things = not needed .

People say you need to buy VERY expensive products from cannabis " grow " shops and end up paying 2 and more $ a gram themselves = not needed .

People say you have to add lemon juice to ayahuasca drinks allthough it isnt needed and the original recepies dont use it or any other acids = Not needed .

People talk about the difference between useing a preasure cooker and a saucepan . Is that realy more efficient or is it again just the difference for example between getting the goods in an hour or 55 minutes or 93 % return instead of 95 % ?

Others argue about wich tek is the best when mostly the difference in those " different " teks is only cosmetic ?

What is efficient / efficiency ?

I'm interested in your thoughts and ideas on the subject and what i say .

What’s efficiency?

The GVG, of course. THAT’S efficiency!

(Not a chemistry answer, but I couldn't resist.)

Often it's the answer you have for yourself to the question "what is my time worth"?

I agree, you can get pretty far with basic understanding, basic materials, and a desire to learn why good teks work, not just follow them blindly.

But I love my pressure cooker, and the pasteurization process.......

LOL . Smile . Thanks . Whats a GVG ? A vaporiser ?
That it is, and a very efficient one at that.

I think that is one place where efficiency pays off without a doubt. I haven’t been able to see a logical reason to use anything else for spice since I got one.

in thermodynamic terms, its defined with respect to net energy lost in the form of heat.
however, many refer to efficiency as a function of saving time and/or resources.

What is efficient...
Salt in Wet Teks... Just is.

^ Haha :)

I think everybody's interpretation of the answer will vary, but also be similar. Therefore I can only give you my interpretation of the answer. What I consider efficiency (In terms of extraction) is a thorough harvest of my desired product using only the supplies and techniques that are necessary to yield a clean product with minimal loss during purification.

I'd say efficiency in this context is defined by the following

-Maximum yeilds from plant matter (this ties into using less materials)

-speed of processing the plant matter

-using the best suited materials in the smallest increments while still yeilding high (tweaks like heat, freezing, heated acid soaks, salting, etc. all cut down on the materials used & work involved while helping break down plant material & maximize yeilds)

-mainimizing impurities in end product while using as little materials (or easier, quicker methods) & money as possible.
