I'm relatively new to the world of DMT. I first tried the A/B tek with acacia with poor yield but enough spice for a very colorful pharmahasca experience. I didn't use a scale but estimate that I took 50mg of waxy white crystals about half an hour after 300mg of harmala crystals, all in caps. Much of what I experienced cannot be conveyed in ordinary human language, I guess I would just say that I felt I was in the presence of a profound spiritual teacher.
Then I got hold of some MHRB and tried the STB tek that called for mixing the lye with the rootbark/water mixture and letting it stand for 3 days. But being impatient I thought, there's no harm in adding a layer of naptha right away so I did that as well. After about 4 hours I siphoned off 150 ml of the naphtha, it was crystal clear, and put it in the freezer for 2 days just to see if anything crashed out.
After 2 days there were fluffly white clumps of crystals all floating in the naptha. I have a filter funnel and a hand vacuum pump, so I filtered them out and air dried them. They were all sparkly and pure white! Not abundant, maybe about 30 mg or so. I decided these might be perfect for nasal administration.
I used a knife to chop them up as finely as I could, then arranged 2 "lines" on a dish. One line per nostril.
First I noticed over a few minutes a gradually building burning sensation. The fact that it built gradually reassured me that it was not lye in my nose, which I am confident would be immediately excruciating.
Next I noticed a rapid heartbeat and a feeling of excitement.
Then things started to happen pretty fast. I think I "broke through" as it's called. I was aware of having a body, but only just barely. I felt like I was being carried up, up, higher and faster, like a rocket-powered elevator. Then I was sitting and I began to feel like an electric current was running through my body, as if my hands were each on a high voltage electrode. The current was building higher and higher and I was sure my body was going to vaporize. I felt some fear but I consciously decided not to turn away from the experience. If I was going to be annihilated I at least wanted to be there when it happened. So I just tried to let go of my body, and everything became very quiet with a feeling of great profundity. I found myself to be in the presence of a wise, loving, and intelligent form that was both geometric and organic at the same time. I was aware of the burning in my nose, but I was given to understand that it was just discomfort and that I should ignore it. At the peak of the experience there was only this incredibly beautiful, self loving, self generating geometric/organic form. It was pure consciousness and it spoke to me telepathically. I was almost, not quite able to let go enough to dissolve in it completely.
There were several points during the ride that I felt twinges of fear, especially when the burning in my nose was most intense. It was as thought I understood that I should not turn away from the pain or the fear, that I should fully embrace and meet whatever was arising. I am pretty sure that I could have generated a "bad trip" cascade of fear if I had tried to "control" the experience.
I have experience with LSD, mescaline, mushrooms. Nothing touches DMT in my opinion. What an amazing tool for the exploration of consciousness.
The STB tek is still in progress. After 24 hrs the naphta layer turned pale yellow as described in the tek.
Question: would preloading with oral harmaline hcl have affected the quality of the experience?
