Hello everyone newbi here im wishing to know the easiest way to extract dmt from plants im in Australia and I don't know anything about it so I'm wanting to learn

In the DMT extractions paths section you’ll find lots of good information. There’s also a list of teks. Remember if using wild harvested material leave the bark alone and utilize phyllodes or fallen material.

I was going to try the Phragmites australis as I can get as much as I want im still looking at different plants as I'm not sure

Phragmites australis might not a good first choice as it contains gramine that would need to be separated during the extraction and an unknown alkaloid content.

As far as gramine I don't believe there's any solid evidence of adverse effects in humans. There was a lot of hysteria over it due to it's potential link to sheep staggers, but it seems like a weak case. That said, if new to extraction something with an unknown and variable alkaloid profile will make it hard to gauge your progress. Would love to hear of your experiments with it though. Its a lovely plant.

Oh cool that's good to know! , I remember reading about phalaris years ago on shroomery but the idea of gramine put me way off. tbh the idea of taking DMT back then was scary to me so it was easy to stop reading about it.. Oh how times have changed lol.

But yes, for the first time, I would suggest something with somewhat known content. Then, you can at least practice your method and know you're getting out what you should be before moving on to the experiential.

Ok well as my name suggests I'm only just starting to learn about all of this and I need this in my life. I want to stay away from acacias for now as there is so much research I need to do as most of the common ones containing dmt are too far away

An option might be to obtain seeds of an active species from a reputable vendor and cutivate your source material yourself. This in itself can be quite a rewarding journey. Don't forget Phalaris spp. as well - although those may not be suitable for a first-time extraction either.
