Failed Delosperma Cooperi extraction

Edit: I'd like to report that, unfortunately, these crystals appear to be lye crystals as they would not dissolve in acetone.


Hi guys,

I wanted to share a pic of the first pull of my extraction on delosperma cooperi . It is a fairly small amount but it was from a messy pull with acetone that I am still trying to figure out so I was surprised to get something out of it.

For anyone interested in trying this plant, I'd recommend microwaving during the acid step, filtering out the plant material with a cloth or shirt, and then letting it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours. Some gunk will collect at the bottom and the top layer can be poured off with relative ease.

For sure

That batch might be contaminated with lye since I did not manage to separate all of the acetone so will need a cleanup.
