Fear and Loathing in Las Changa...

Migrated topic.

Past sessions with Changa have been wonderful, light, and easy to work with. After reading several posts about adding additional harmala alkaloids to mixes, I started to think my 50/50 Caapi leaf/Blue Lotus flower was not giving me the push others were having so I decided to try a short term solution to the perceived problem.

I decided to roll a few papers up with my dry (uninfused) herb mix to smoke through out the night as I approached my session time. Assuming that, I would have stronger MAO inhibition and so forth.

Using roughly the same ratio (this mix might have a been a touch more in favor of spice)I had a complete breakthrough in half the amount it usually takes. It was so strong I tore off the rolled bandanna I was using as a blindfold and panicked a moment from the pure overwhelming sensation of the fractals and colors moving and morphing at a pace that makes me doubt my other 'breakthroughs' were really even that.

Needless to say that was the end of my session as I needed to smoke a cig and pace around a bit to defrag what just happened. I was terrified and wonder-filled at the same time.

So, oh wise Nexians, my questions:

1. Are the addl' MAOI alkaloids needed or will a simple evaporation on Caapi work?

2. Has anyone else 'preloaded' via the smoking route? Does it inhibit MAO in a longer time frame in the way I am thinking it does?

3. I really did have a third question and now I don't remember.

Thanks, you are all great.

Wish I could answer your question, but I've not started exploring changa yet. But it sounds like you've already found a winning formula. Let's hear more about the actual experiences you've had!

Up until this point I thought I had had normal "sub-breakthrough" experiences. Twice I thought I actually did breakthrough, but felt disappointed with the experience after reading some of the reports. I understand many of them are highly perception based in their recall but it seemed a good base to start from.

That night I had a ~ 1:1 mix (that I had been using) and after smoking many dry-run Caapi joints (the base caapi and blue lotus mix without any spice)I put on a blind fold and laid down and took a small puff. It seemed like I 'dropped' (I always have a falling or dropping into something feeling) faster then usual and this overwhelming sense of familiarity I can not express overtook me. I started to smile.

Then these 'webs' turned into moving almost jig-saw pieces, all with sharp angles. Fear started tricking in about now but I was still aware. The got faster and faster, the vibration got stronger and stronger then *POW* I was in (what I can make out) some hallway of gold and blues. Bright, almost too bright, I felt completely overwhelmed as I tore that blindfold off.

The candles I had lit now seemed like large rolling balls of a brilliant light like I have never seen. I started to panic, but at the same time I was able to tell myself to relax...

That slowed down and I was left with an intense positive afterglow.

I now think that was mt first breakthough. I hope to have learned from this and not hold back next time, as it only feels like I took a peek behind the curtain.

My first DMT experience with a changa blend bought from an undisclosed location in Australia had the same jagged jig-saw patterns as I was dropping... As it was my first time with the molecule I experienced a bit of apprehension from the fast onset and didn't go further though I reckon I would have broken through if I had let go and embraced. Still a beautiful experience though...

The extra harmalas you consumed prior to blastoff most definitely would've left you more open to a deeper experience. Good luck in your travels!

That sound intense... And also sounds like you've got a smoking technique that works. All you need is to leave that blindfold on! You may never end up back in that same hallway but you now get a sense of the kind of deep inner spaces you can visit. Good luck with your travels!
