I wouldn't doubt it - the designers of video games have to be the most creative people in the world or they don't get the job.

Ahh, Ok I see what you're saying now.
After FF9, the FF series seemed to get very religious, where "Sin" was the main enemy in FF10... so maybe yes, this could be directly taken from the book. I didn't really like the religious aspects of FF10. Apparently after This next final fantasy comes out, the series is going to radically change.

I guess the relevant "NEXUS" reason I wanted to share this is because Ophan reminds me of a being I had encountered. There were a few of them around me. They were huge metallic/jeweled wheels covered with eyes all watching, spinning, jiggling, reaching, and blocking my view from seeing something. Its amazing how one thing leads to another which ends up connecting you to something from your past in a way you would never had expected... HMMM?
Oh and I think Final Fantasy was fun back on the nintendo.

Final Fantasy is freaking awesome.... but if you guys want a great RPG to play with the most rediculous mind bogglingly awesome story PLEASE give xenogears a try, and if that game is to old for your tastes (PS1) play some Xenosaga!!! The thought and effort they put into making the stories of this game is freaking awesome... They spent more time building the whole universe (star wars style) than they did making the games probably. There are books released that give info on the universes of these games because the universe is so well thought out they couldn't fit it out in the games The pictures in my sig are from xenogears
and Xenosaga has all kinds of references to psychological and spritual things. They incorporate the work of Jung and his different aspects of the personality. Example, in xenogears the main character Fei, has a split personality that is called "Id", named after Jungs work.
Xenosaga doesn't have a "god" in it like the christian god, the higher form of consciousness in the game is the collective unconscious of all humanity. And monsters are formed and the universe is coming to an end because humans that die cannot "let go" and enjoy becoming one with the collective unconscious, and they reject it. And that is causing massive problems (ie. universe coming undone at its seems).
Playing this game on LSD was crazy. The humans could not let go and join and become one with the collective unconscious, instead they rejected and fought against their own morality, which all of us on this site know from experience you cannot fight it
The goal of the bad guy is "Eternal Recurrence". If I may quote "If we are destined to die, then we shall stop time at some point before out deaths, and reset it, eternally".
Such an awesome game, gives you alot to think about!!!
After that shameless plug, I will say FF13 does look like its going to be quite awesome, but have you seen trailers for the ps3 exclusive, Final Fantasy XIII Versus. I think that game looks so much better.
