SWIM used the A/B method of extraction using 50 grams of MHRB, crushed up vitamin C pills for an acid, Roebic Lye and VM&P Naptha from Lowe's. Worked beautifully because SWIM now has a pile of mostly white crystals about the size of a quarter ($.25). Tomorrow or tonight SWIM will be blasting off into hyperspace for the first time ever!

There were a couple of issues that SWIM ran into but with patience and perseverence, SWIM was able to overcome and get some spice.The Naphtha evaporated perfect when SWIM blew a fan on it and set it by the window. The freeze precipitation took place rapidly and worked well. The problem was when SWIM was decanting the spice, it refused to dry out! So SWIM scraped it all up and put it on a piece of card-stock paper and before long, the crystals dried and the spice was ready. :) :) :)

Question - I have a pile about the size of a quarter. How many hits is that? I don't have a milligram scale. I'm thinking of just starting with the size of a small pea. How much do people generally get from 50 grams?
 
Depending on the quality of the bark you used, and how efficient your extraction technique was. It can be anywhere from 250mg - 800mg.

You should really invest in a scale. When dealing with quantities/doses in the mg range, eyeballing can be a dangerous game. And depending on the fluffiness/compactness of the spice, a single dose can vary in terms of size.

Do not expect to have a reliable answer to your question.

You can never judge your weight by the apparent size of your pile because your product density can vary a lot.

For the first extraction expect to have 250 - 500 mg. Luckily it is impossible to OD with smoked spice, especially with no previous spice smoking experience. You'll be out of this world before you inhale too much.

congratulation :) , you should definitely get some 0.001g scale its quite important.i know some people here dont use scale but it can save you a lots of spice. i think good scale is a good investment and the same with pipe.

what smoking technique are you planing to use ?
 
I'm excited to hear how it goes! SWIM is extracting for the first time using Q21Q21's Tek 2 soon and is looking forward to 1-2% yields to use toward Changa production as they've acquired high quality Naphtha, MHRB, and Caapi. All that remains is local, high-quality Calcium Hydroxide (Lime), and it's time for pre-flight checks.

Oh, and yes, please get a scale. You can get a "decent" .0001 (milligram) scale for 34 bucks, and a decent .01 scale for the same.
