First Caapi Extraction Attempt - What happened?

Hello everyone, made my first Caapi extraction attempt today and am following Gibran2's easy Caapi Extraction guide.

I did my 4 boils, but probably used slightly more fumaric acid than in the tek. I strained and reduced down to 400ml. Then I basified and stirred and started to see precipitate floating and some settling. I left it for a while but there just wasn't that much precip so I added some more lye and then nothing.... all the precip has disappeared.

I've checked and the ph is over 13 now. Can anyone advise what happened? Surely you can't overbasify. I've put it in the fridge to leave overnight but I'm not holding out much hope.

Can anyone shed any light?

I just did my 1st extraction, and I notice that my alks would break out of the solution in a cloud as I added the basic solution and fall back in as the acid solution mix in and was the majority. Until adding enough base they did not stay out.

You could always try to acidify with hcl or vingar and bring to a simmer, add 10g non iodinized of salt per 100ml of water and stick it in the fridge for a few hours. run it through a coffee filter and dry.
