first cactus experience

Migrated topic.
Hello fellow nexions not sure if this is the right place for this post being new I don’t have much of a choice.
I was given 5 cactus for my birthday 2 p.torchs 2 pachanoi and 1 bridgesii all cuttings 12 inches. I plan on
growing all them but one of the torches had rot spots so I chopped him up. I left 4 inches of the top to dry out and root.

So i ended up with about 13 inches of cacti sliced him up into large chunks and placed into a Crockpot with lime juice
cooked on low all day for about 15 hours then i strained the chunks out very easy working with large pieces. I then reduced the
h20 down to 500 ml or so then placed in front of fan over night. The next day there was a thick layer of goop very hard
To scrape up but i managed to get it all off and rolled it up into balls the resin was way to sticky to attempt to cap it up.

So i took half of the resin and took it down with some juice with in 30 mins I noticed a very warm euphoric feeling
came over me very smooth like (mdma) not much visuals but some nice closed eyed visuals this was my first cacti
experience so i had nothing to gage it by. i love the way it changes your thought patterns.

I lived in Arizona for most of my childhood and teenage years and peyote grows wild out there. The Indians
swear to it being the main doorway to the spirt world and i was always fascinated by their culture.
I never got a chance to try peyote in the desert but this experience brought me right back
to feeling of being in the desert with the beautiful surroundings’I love these plants!

After this experience i have a new found respect for these cacti and look forward to working with them in the future
My cacti are being potted today and look amazing!

THANKS FOR THE EASY RESIN TEK GUYS

The San Pedro cactus is the name given to psychoactive species of the genus Trichocereus (T. pachanoi, T. peruvianus) which comprises about thirty species, mainly found in the Andes. It is a large columnar cactus that grows up to heights of twenty feet and it contains mescaline, as does the well-known peyote cactus. The San Pedro cactus has also been found to have other psychoactive alkaloids. The mescaline seems to be most highly concentrated in the skin, which can be peeled, dried and made into a powder for consumption.

The usual native preparation of the cactus involves boiling slices of the stem for a number of hours and then, once cooled, the resulting liquid is drunk. Sometimes the San Pedro is used in conjunction with other psychoactive plants, such as coca, tobacco, Brugmansia and Anadenanthera. The hallucinogenic properties of its traditional use, including aguacolla, cardo, cuchuma, gigantón, hermoso, huando and, of course, San Pedro.

Like many other of the entheogenic substances used in the aboriginal religions of the Americas, the use of the hallucinogenic San Pedro cactus is ancient and its use has been a continuous tradition in Peru for over 3,000 years. The earliest depiction of the cactus is a carving which shows a mythological being holding the San Pedro. It belongs to the Chavín culture (c. 1400-400 BC) and was found in an old temple at Chavín de Huantar in the northern highlands of Peru, and dates about 1300 BC. A particularly surprising discovery was made by a Peruvian archaeologist named Rosa Fung in a pile of ancient refuse at the Chavín site of Las Aldas near Casma; namely what seem to be remnants of cigars made from the cactus. Artistic renderings of it also appear on later Chavín artefacts such as textiles and pottery (ranging from about 700-500 BC). The San Pedro is also a decorative motif of later Peruvian ceramic traditions, such as the Salinar style (c. 400-200 BC), the Nasca urns (c. 100 BC-AD 700). It has also been proposed that a recurrent snail motif in Moche art represents a mescaline-soaked snail which has partaken of the San Pedro. If this is the case then the snail may be added to the list of animals having psychoactive properties.

The amount of mescaline sulfate required for a full experience is about 500 mg. (or approximately 350 mg. of mescaline hydrochloride) Pure mescaline should be taken in two half-doses about 30 minutes apart. This will minimize disturbance of the stomach, which usually passes after the first couple hours of the high. When consuming whole cacti one is actually taking a combination of alkaloids which synergistically interact with each other, producing an experience which is different, and sometimes more desirable, than pure mescaline.

Trichocereus cacti are relatively quick growing and easy to make cuttings of. Each plant may produce one or more highs worth per year. When harvesting these cacti the top four inches of growing tip can be cut off to be replanted. A length from beneath this can then be cut to consume. The remaining cactus stub will also continue to grow, frequently putting out several branches where it was cut off. The tip cutting should be laid on its side in the sun until the exposed flesh calluses. Once this has occurred, it should be placed upright in a half soil/half sand mixture with good drainage. When cutting the lower, consumable section of the cactus, care should be taken to cut at an angle, going upwards toward the middle of the plant. The fleshy part of the cactus will shrink in where it was cut, and if cut straight across it will form a bowl that will hold water and tend to mold.

preperation

Cut up at least 12 inches into chunks not too small. Place cacti in Crockpot with h20 and lemon juice or lime cover and heat on low for 12 hours. Pour
Off water leaving chunks in pot refill with water and lime repeat first step. Then take your two washes and reduce it to a small enough amount that
You can pour it into a flat dish to evaporate I used a fan and it took 24 hours. it’s very tough to scrape off capping it up is just to much of a pain roll them up and take with juice. Now you know there is lots of teks on this site I’m not saying this is the best it just worked great for me. I hope you have as good experience as I did good luck!
