Esteemed member
I had ok results with my first pull, but my yield was extremely low, i got .5%
But admitidly i didn't allow the lye solution to sit in a warm bath long enough and i didn't do enough naptha pulls.
We live and we learn.

This is my plan for my next extraction this weekend.

Any thoughts or suggestions to change a step would be appreciated
I will be using 500g MHRB
  1. Mix bark with water/vinegar mix ph-3 freeze thaw a few times.
  2. pressure cook bark with +-2l water/vinegar ph3 for 30min strain liquid x3
  3. reduce resultant liquid gathered in step 2 to +-1.5l (My flask is 2l)
  4. add nacl mixed in warm water and shake ( not clear on amount of salt needed)
  5. add 150g Naoh mixed into 250ml of water. mix and allow to heat in a warm water bath. and mix +-1hr
  6. heat 100ml heptane mix into basified liquid mix +-5 times and allow to settle eventually extracting heptane. x5
  7. allow some heptane to evaporate before placing in sealed container and leaving in freezer for +12hrs

What do you guys think of this process?

Yes but where I am in Australia it's the whole dish that will frost up. Bottom included. You have to remove from freezer and decant, put the lid back on, back in freezer upside down for an hour or so, remove from freezer and decant again the drained drips, replace lid quickly and leave out upside down to come to room temp, then remove the lid.
Absolute pain in the ass without involving electricity

I would advise you to start with a smaller amount and learn from the experience and the details to get your yield up. If you have proper bark you will get anywhere between 5 and 10 grams of dmt per pound. To be honest that’s allot of dmt and would take most a lifetime to consume, unless most is converted to a salt it’s probably better to just leave it in the bark for long term storage. Just extract 50 grams with a STB and get a gram of dmt and repeat when running out. Or at least that’s what I would recommend.

Anyway good luck and welcome to the nexus

Wow, you spice is super white... I used almost the same technique as you... but mine is brownish see this post photos.

What I do to avoid condensation, is to turn the dish vetically, and put an electric fun blowing to it, there might be some drops at the bottom or a corner, easy to remove.

I also use 2000ml volumetric flask, very long neck.
I use 2 of those, so, if you have about 2000ml solution, just fill each one to about half.
Then, the shaking/mixing will be much more efficient (when it´s half empty... if it´s full, there´s no room for shaking). I let the tap on, but no pressure... and I shake in circular and vertical motion, using the ball shape of the volumetric flask (each flask).
Then, pour the content of the other one into one flask, fill it until reaching the level of the long neck, that way the pippette extraction is easy.
