ive had this the last couple of times ive done a stb. its sounds like oils or other alks, i often get a small kinda yellow film that goes over some of the crystals, i separate it if i can otherwise just scrape it up an re-ex. even then its seems ok to smoke it if you cant be bothered with a re-ex.
the other thing ive found that even after 2/3 re'-ex;s the yellow still stays and i find it hard to get rid of it, just yesterday i tried to do a third re-ex on some yellow spice but it seemed that amongst the oily blob left at the bottom was most the dmt as well and the yellow/orange blob will just crystallise due to all the dmt in there. its hard for me to get all the dmt out without taking some or most of the yellow oil with me again when freeze precip'd
anyone know why it keeps dissolving along with my dmt and also why it keeps a hold of the dmt and doesnt seem to want to free it. the hotter the naphta the more of the globy orange stuff it dissolves and the cooler it is the less dmt gets dissolved, im using around 20-30mls of solvent.
the last lot i did the brown/orange globe had 500mg of dmt left in it when i re-exed it second time, its this same stuff thats now going for a third but again i was left with a hard crystalline orange blob that still had a shit load of dmt in it, so ive re-exed again(4th) to still be left with dmt and then again and still some dmt left and the blob is hard but each time i re-ex the blob it gets smaller but still hardens/crystallises. so it just seems each time i re-ex the blob im just dissolving a lil bit of the dmt and the gunk i dont want an the just preciping it out again. any help as to why this is happening and how i can fix it would be appreciated.
