First-Time Dosing & Brewing Tips for Viridis + Caapi query

Hi everyone,

After reading through the forum, here's my understanding of how to use Psychotria Viridis dried leaves (100g) and Banisteriopsis Caapi Yellow 30:1 extract resin paste (20g):

  • The resin should be mixed with distilled water and consumed about an hour before brewing the Viridis, correct?
However, I'm unsure about a few things:

  1. Dosing: I want to start with a very low dose. Any advice on how much I should use for a first-time experience?
  2. Brewing process: How exactly should I brew the Viridis? Do I brew it with distilled water multiple times? What temperature and how long should it brew for?
I’d really appreciate any guidance or advice, and if there are any important points I’m missing, please let me know!

Thanks so much!

Hi there and welcome to the Nexus!

Please show us where you've already looked, and highlight the passages that you don't understand. Then we can take it from there.

This should be about as simple as making a cup of tea and a bowl of soup.

Thanks for your response. I couldn't find a single post that specifically explains mixes of the following:
• Psychotria Viridis dried leaves (100g)
• Banisteriopsis Caapi Yellow 30:1

I've read multiple posts to understand the whole process so I can apply it to this case. As such, I am unable to relate to a specific post.

I would appreciate it if you could confirm whether my understanding makes sense, or refer me to a source that provides more clarification on this matter.

You may have to simmer the chacruna a bit longer than for tea. The caapi resin is likely to be weaker than its strength ratio might suggest. It will simply dissolve in water but you may need a little acid (e.g., vitamin C) to help it dissolve in hard water.
