First Time Extraction - Round two - Acacia Confusa?

Migrated topic.

Hi there!

Swim tried his first extraction on some Acacia Confusa root bark, and unfortunately it didn't work. SWIM had a few white crystals after the drying phase (about .2 g from 100g of root bark) via a STB extraction, but it didn't have any effect when smoked. SWIM tried the following tek (before discovering this wealth of information on these forums) http://www.psychonaut.com/ayahuasca-dmt/36008-how-extract-dmt-easy-low-cost-way.html

However, SWIM is not deterred, and is going for round 2 (but asking questions this time around).

SWIM thinks his mistake was separating the root bark into 5 separate mason jars, and using 50ml naptha in each, then combining. The yield after drying was very gummy in the bottom of the pan, and left a saplike residue that when scraped was brown. No amount of drying seemed to help

SWIM is hopefully going to try more of a hybrid tek this time.

SWIM lives in the USA, so Mimosa is not available to him. SWIM has been able to get his hands on Acacia Confusa though. SWIM is going to try using Cyb's tek (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/resource.ashx?a=13453) as he hopes the pictorial will help aid to a more effective extraction.

So, now to the question phase if anyone wouldn't mind volunteering some info :-)
1. Can SWIM use Acacia Confusa root bark for this extraction?
2. Can anyone offer some advice as to how to best extract using Acacia Confusa for a novice chemist?
3. Is there a better plant material to use within the USA that is readily available?

Thank you so much in advance.

.2 yield of Goo sounds about right for confusa, try dissolving the Goo in ipa or acetone and evaping on some herb you might have better luck with that than vaping. Keep in mine to the Goo is probably a mix of dmt and nmt and many find it lighter than the Mimosa extract. Try soaking your bark in ethanol or methanol for a while and letting that evaporate entirely before pulling, I read this increases yield slightly.

Thanks. SWIM tried smoking the goo on herb, and unfortunately, didn't experience any effects (bummer).

Are there any reasonable alternatives in the states?

A friend of mine also used ACRB for an stb tek and goo resulted. The goo was then vapid through a "Machine Bubbler" effects were equal to description of a low dose of "DMT" but a break through was not possible do to the low yield and lack of experience vaping. Look up how to make a machine. Maybe you will have luck there.

Couldn't you try getting rid of the NMT by means of solubility? NMT is not very soluble in naphtha but DMT is so I'd say pour some warm naphtha on it, something should stay behind -> filter -> evap and it shoul be purer product.

Hi Endus, soaking your material in a vinegar solution whilst gently heating it for 1/2 hour or so, draining it and repeating 3 times and reducing might be a more successful approach.

I have it on good recommendation that an A/B tek is better for Acacias. Leaves (phylodes) twigs and such are also easier to harvest and do less damage to the plant than root bark, and by most reports yield more DMT 'than' root bark. Also, Its very hard to identify 'root' material...:)

You can grow many tripto' varieties in USA, and find some too. What you are doing is GREAT. Getting your technique stable, and identifying Acacia varieties is a hard task.

I would try smaller 'test' batches of say 30-50mg twigs/phylodes/bark. Once you discover it, it feels like 'gold' and you will be happy you did, I hope.
Are you sure your plant is Confusa? Can you get MHRB?
Im sure you will have read this ? Acacia Confusa
and this Acacia ID thread.
Lots of Acacias contain natural cocktails of DMT and other triptamines. One or two varieties have become more popular as the yield was said to be better. But saying that, all you need is a very small amount of a wind damaged branch of an active tree. Reports also indicate a seasonal time to harvest or not. In fact, some Acacias may test 0% at certain times of the plants own cycle, and high at others. More research is always needed in this area, so keep going. It might be that your method was sound. There are a number of Acacia 'experts' here on the NEXUS if you need advice......

Personally, I would recommend a A/B tek (vinegar/NaOH), on dry 'small' twigs, on properly ID'ed plants. Also, I have found young material from a mature tree is as potent as older bark, perhaps more so. Harvesting the roots of any Acacia will normally result in sickness or death to the plant.

If Acacia is your only option there are a few choices and directions you could take.
Best of luck:thumb_up:
