Substance(s): 50mg DMT straight, not all of it vaporized, some of it might have burned

REPORT
rolling pipe stem with jet lighter. first light/moderate inhalation. held. exhaled. resumed normal breathing. second heating. bigger inhalation. immediate urge to cough. tried to resist best I could. held. exhaled. resumed normal breathing. went to kitchen to get a drink of water because of raw throat. sinuses also draining. returned to bedroom with water. third heating. biggest inhalation. again, strong urge to cough and resisted the best I could. DMT may have been burned in the second or third heating? After second inhalation: lips went numb where the pipe stem was touching. Also tip of tongue went numb. Part of numbness almost felt like burning, but not painful. Felt general body numbness and pleasant tingling goosebumps. Hearing ringing or buzzing. A light feeling of euphoria. Very moderate visual distortion of curtains in front of me. Third inhalation. set the pipe and lighter in container next to me and lied back in bed. Closed eyes. Faint/dim cartoonish visuals. hard to make out. seemed like a cartoon-like character was kinda forming in the upper center. a black, thin faint semi-diagonal line going down from left to right. After third toke: cartoonish visuals were replaced with fractal visuals, brightly multicolored shapes, mostly diamond and triangle-shaped patterns turning in place and color. mostly symmetrical. Generally dim visuals, like in a dark room and seeing fractals of different geometries spaced out from each other. Visuals started to fade about minute 13:00. Euphoria faded out within half hour. About 20-25 minutes after administration experienced feeling of the immensity of consciousness or space. Like I'm just this speck in an endless ocean. Wasn't scary, more like: "whoa". Also about this time, I had feeling or thought, not quite a premonition, more like a condition, of a friend and me being at a threshold, and beyond the threshold, shit's about to expand, be revealing, amazing, and mysterious.
Overall, slightly net positive experience. The coughing, throat rawness, nasal drainage, and the small numbness-almost-burning sensation in tongue and lips were uncomfortable and unpleasant, and distracted from the positive part of the experience. This downside is why I went for a light experience for my first time so that I could improve my technique the next time(s) around when I attempt a breakthrough. A friend was going to be my sitter when I was ready in a few days, but I finally had product and I was so damn curious and eager I just couldn't wait and had to try it. lol.
Please weigh in, especially on the burning lips and tongue, and raw throat. I want to minimize that part of the process next time. Also see my post about the residue left in the pipe: dark liquid residue in pipe I'm guessing I burned some of the DMT, but if it's impurities in the product, then I need to figure out where the extraction needs to be improved.
