First trip in 3 years

Hi all,

More of a lurker than a poster, but I'm hoping some of you will have some input for my question.

SO: this Friday I'm going to be eating an 8th of mushrooms. It will be my first trip in three years, and I'm hoping for a fairly strong one. I've tripped on mush/L ~50 times in my life, but I've never done more than an 8th of mushrooms.

I would like to try out the lemon tek this time around, but I'm wondering if you can combine it with a tea recipe. Could I, for example, grind up my shrooms, soak in lemon for twenty min, then brew a tea with the lemon shrooms, strain out the ground gunk, and drink the tea? Will this work, or is it necessary to drink the ground up mushrooms if doing lemon tek?

I've made mushroom tea in the past and discarded the boiled shrooms, but I'm wondering if you need to eat the soaked shrooms for the "magic" of the lemon tek to be effective.

Thanks for your input!

I can't answer your question, but I'm glad that you're making a comeback to psychedelics. I've had a bit of a dry spell myself, though nothing like 3 years (more like 5 months). I want to get back on the horse, but finding time (as well as "the right time" ) is difficult for me. In the meantime, I hope your experience goes well.

Yes, it's been a while, as I've been traveling abroad and attending grad school the past few years... but now the time is right, as you say :)

Ive noticed that when I lemon tek my shrooms, there are some actives still in the mushrooms, but a lot comes out into the lemon juice. If you cultivate your own, that may not be an issue - you may not want to waste them though.

I suppose you could use the lemon juice in a tea.

I use lime juice have made limeade on occasion.

I usually just shoot the whole mess like a shot.

If you haven't lemon-teked before... be ready... it hits faster and harder than just the mushies would on their own

Good luck!

i would imagine the dephosphorylated tryptamines (i.e. psilocin) would be much more prone to degradation while being brewed.

i could be wrong on this, but i was under the impression that psilocin was fairly delicate (compared to psilocybin)

Interesting-- so you think that doing a lemon/tea combo could result in weakened shrooms? I know from experience that non-lemon-teked shrooms are surprisingly resilient against heat (they brew in boiling water just fine), but maybe this is not the case citric acid is thrown into the mix.

Hmmm-- I really do prefer to take me shrooms via tea, as it significantly reduces body load for me, but I'm also interested in trying the lemon tek.

Decisons, decisions...

Why don´t you just chew them :) (= 100% certainty nothing gets "lost" )?

IMO, you´ll always lose some goodies if you discard the solid stuff...

I think if you powder the shrooms extremely fine (with a spice/coffee mill). Then cover them with fresh lemon juice and prepare some hot water... Pour the water over and then strain, do one more water pull you will have more than enough magic in that cup to push you further than you'd probably feel comfortable with. There's no need to use the spent material

For me anyway, lemon tek comes on full noise in under 15 minutes and Im a dribbling degenerate within half an hour

Its a very very fast onset and it always takes me by surprise, consuming the mushrooms whole will lead to a more layered come up.

happy travels :d

at room temp with ascorbic acid (almost all vitamin C supplements are essentially ascorbic acid) it is virtually impossible to lose goodies (afaik)
i always drink the solids with the liquid.

my preferred ingestion method (essentially lemon tek)

instead of grinding, you can cut them into smallish chunks, and give it a quick pound with a mortar & pestle (or whatever DIY alternative) to flatten it/lyse the cells.

No, if your mushrooms are potent, you do not have to eat the "gunk", but it does not hurt either if you're not prone to mushroom nausea and digestive problems.

Thanks for all the responses guys :)

Think I'll go with something like antichode's technique... tomorrow's the day!
