First try, quite intense

Migrated topic.

I had what i would consider a pretty intense dmt experience about 10 minutes ago, definitely the furthest I've gone so far.

I don't think I quite broke through, but i had some pretty vivid CEV's. There was a rotating plane of light and color on an axis with swirling patterns in the background and a silhouette of what appeared to be a person in the center. When I opened my eyes everything looked really funny, like it was slightly tilted. Afterward I noticed colors are incredibly vibrant, like i was still tripping but still lucid.... hard to explain. Also, there was a loud buzzing sound most of the time, especially as it was coming on. My lips are kind of numb, is that normal?

Anyways i think im getting more used to the effects, i have to say the first time I did it about a week ago the loss of control was a bit scary and i've been working up the courage to try it again. This time was much more enjoyable.

Glad to hear you went back. I'm waiting until I have the $$$ to try it again :(

Now, quick question: For you, what is scary about the loss of control?

Difficult to say. The best thing I can compare it to is my fear of heights, its an irrational fear but for some reason I find it hard to reason my way out of it. Even though I know I will be fine, my instincts just tell me "this is bad". In a persons life mental and visual reality are some of the most constant things, you grow comfortable with them being that way, i guess its just hard for me to unlearn that.

I'm not disheartened though, so far in life conquering fear is among the most rewarding things I've ever done. I was scared shitless hiking half dome last summer but once you get up there its all worth it. I'm hoping DMT will be the same.

When I've smoked DMT, I've tried to cool the hot vapor with my mouth to help prevent coughing. It seems like whatever part of my mouth I use to cool the vapor becomes numb. This happens slower than the trip and peaks as the trip is ending. It once was the cause (I believe) for me imagining that an entity I sensed was a dentist working on my mouth.

I did once try putting a piece of wet paper towel in my mouth to cool the vapor (spitting it out right as put down the test tube I was using to vaporize the DMT). This completely prevented the numbness.

In summary, I'm pretty sure its normal (at least for me).

I sort of have the same feeling just before I blast off. It is this irrational yet unstoppable feeling of anxiety that I feel. However, once I take off I feel calm, but nevertheless... I am yet to work up the courage to smoke off some of the remaining spice.

I find that my fear or heights lessens considerably after I finish working out(probably because of the increased endocrine levels in the body). The same principle might work for spice as well.

I work out 3.5 times a week but i find it hard to motivate myself to do anyhting after im done. Maybe ill try it after a some heavy lifting, thanks for the input.

Yeah numb lips is normal. I used to get this and worry a little. I imagine its the heat of the vapour? Please dont put anything (like paper towel) in your mouth though. At higher doses this could go wrong.

I've broken through lots of times now and I can assure you that it may always be 'a bit scary' but that's ok. You express it well when you say that 'mental and visual reality are some of the most constant things'. Of course they are, that is what we are after all. Spice calls into question everything that I have come to rely on- absolutely everything, including my very sense of self.

I think vetiarvind may be onto something with the idea of increased endocrine levels. Exercise being a great stress reliever. If a full workout doesn't fit in with your spice schedule then there are other stress relieving methods which could be employed. I usually stretch and visualise the fear leaving my body for at least 5 min before take-off. Others meditate, do yoga etc. Its only when I perform stretching exercises that I realise just how much tension has built up especially around the neck area.

Anyway, as someone said to me once;
"practice does not make perfect ... GOOD practice makes perfect" :d

Take care

what u say all natural about "in a persons life mental and visual reality are some of the most constant things, you grow comfortable with them being that way" is good words i shall remember! Thanks for the caution. I thought of this as well before I tried. Only took one big hit and then got rid of the paper towel while I held my breath (before the effects started).

I'm sure a water bong would get rid of these effects but have never tried it.
