You will have much better luck and consistency in effects with your product if you properly freebase it. Freebasing with heat is not only misleading, but finicky at best and is not recommended.

When using teks that leave you with DMT acetate, in my experience, it is best to evaporate the vinegar as completely as possible, and then freebase using sodium carbonate as outlined on the Nexus. This will ensure that all of your product has been turned in to freebase!

I smoked acetates that I thought were freebased by heat for a while when I first started out and while it did seem to work, it was very mild and/or hit and miss. It made all the difference in the world once I started properly converting to a freebase.
