For a trully brilliant film, watch 'The Fountain'

Migrated topic.
It's Aronovsky's film, the guy who also did Pi and Requiem for a Dream.

Personally I didn't like this one as much as the others. I found it too cryptic and requiring loads of mental effort for my brain.

The feeling of the film however was stunning. Same goes for the special effects. Maybe I need to give it another try sometimes.

Exactly, do watch another time. I found I got a lot more out of it by the second watch.

Its just so beautiful, and so many interesting themes are present... All this deal about 'tree of life', and what is immortality, death, soul, ancient cultures, love, attachment, etc...

and no soulfood is not as dark as requiem.. Maybe it brings a tear but you will also have a smile :)

Nope its not at all, Requiem for a dream was very crushing indeed. The Fountain is very beautiful and deep just my kind of movie.

Much Peace

Yes thats a very dark film, I loved it though

I think ill have to give the fountain another bash, wasnt that into it the first time.

Whats pi like? I wanted to see that years ago and never got the chance.

I remember I saw this movie a while ago and didn't like it too much. I think I found it boring :p hehe

Well I think I was expecting too much.

I hated The Fountain.

I loved Pi and Requiem, but The Fountain almost had me out of my chair leaving the theatre.

I hated how the film jumped between three eras. I couldn't care about any of the characters. The tree spaceship thing was not sci-fi enough for my tastes. It was like witnessing a very personal dream of someone I just could not connect with. It went on for ages too.

I hated the Fountain so much, I avoided The Wrestler, and may never forgive Aronofsky.

This is just my subjective opinion. I appreciate that some people really liked it. My tastes lie on the opposite spectrum of this film.
