Hello all on the nexus, i have been reading about dmt for about 2 years and have been intensely glued to my computer reading everything and anything there was on dmt ever since seeing it on erowid. what seriously interested me about the spirit molecule was that its inside many plants animals mammals plants ect. and it floods our brain when we die and when we are born and, ahhhhhh u guys know all this stuff. So after hearing about all of it i decided to extract some mimosa so i finally might be able to make sense of my spiritual self and maybe find out who i really am because i have a hard time tapping into my spirituality without psychedelics and i thought this sounds almost perfect to learn about my spiritual self because without my spirituality with me i feel completley alone and not the same at all. and the fact you can possibly have out of body experiences and go into different 4d worlds sounds really ground breaking. so i eventually tried it and here i am. ill write a trip report later.

Indeed we do, we see these misconceptions all the time.

From the FAQ:

Is it true the pineal gland produces DMT naturally and is involved in dreaming and death? What does DMT do in the body?

There is no evidence to support the claim that DMT is produced in the pineal or brain. It is only speculation raised by Dr Rick Strassman due to his previous interest in the pineal. In fact, the key enzymes necessary for this have not been found present in the human brain, therefore it seem more likely it is produced elsewhere in the body.
The same for the connection of dmt and dream, and that dmt is released when we die, both are speculation with no real evidence to back them up.
It IS proven, though, for decades already, that DMT is produced in the human body and is present at all times in trace amounts, for unknown functions (which could be several functions, see last link below).

Anyway, welcome to the Nexus. I applaud your efforts to learn how to extract your own spice, and I wish you the best of luck and grace on your path of these very mysterious, amazing, and important explorations of who and what we are.

Welcome to the Nexus!

As house linked, be sure to check the FAQ.

Did you try DMT orally yet? I find it might lend itself better to self-development because it takes time to show me my mistakes and things I can get better at, and its 'easier' for the integration, maybe it would work similar to you. Since you are looking for 'spiritual' experience, I think that might interest you.

endlessness doing some secret research on oral dmt amongst the new members? ;)

i actually have been a little curious to try aya but im quite scared of tripping for extensive periods of time because of my last high dose mushroom experience.:( Those are one of the main reasons why i chose dmt.

Welcome LoccdatDMT! Look forward to learning with you as you progress along your journey here. :)

I have similar fears regarding aya, and posted them when endlessness asked me a similar question in my intro thread. It is milder than spice I've gathered, and the easier integration would probably be immensely helpful if used for spiritual purposes.

i agree spice is pretty hard to learn off of and integrate the experience because your only there for a very short time and you basically have no recollection of it because it was so fast and intense:( . i also agree with the aya statment:) i think if we can just cope with it we really can get a nice valuable spiritual teaching.
