freeze Precipitation in lextek/handbook

for the freeze Precipitation in lextek why do we have to leave it for three day (72 hours). it seems a little unnecessary to me as most the crystals have settled buy day one. will my yield really be much lower or will the overall formation of crystals be affected. dose anyone else wait the three days, any advice will help thanks
