Freezing and Percep's or Evaporating off a dish

Migrated topic.
Freeze precipitation offers a cleaner product but obviously you need a freezer. Certainly, my freezer (upper part of an old fridge) isn't as cold as it should be, but it works.
If evaporating, make sure the naphta is clean! And don't inhale freshly evaporated STB spice, any lye residues in there need some time to convert to carbonate by CO2 in the air.

On paper it looks like NaOH doesn't dissolve in naphta and doesn't evaporate until 1660 K but in practice the naphta is wet, not exactly anhydrous. Some lye might be sucked in at inhalation by a vortex of air in a mist of tiny particles... be safe!

SWIM says that he prefers freezing as it does not stink of the place up. For those that live in apts I would suggest, in agreement with SWIM, this over evaping as evaping = chem smells that scare the neighbors into calling the police = jail time for you. If you have your own home, shrug do whatever, but you still run the risk of police being called if its too strong.

Which do you prefer and why? Does one yield more than another? Pro's and cons of each...

I'd like to know this too. I've been doing freeze/precips, but thats not working out so well in the warm humid weather. If I just let it evaporate with a fan, should I get the same result as I would if I freeze/precip?
I thought the freeze/precip is what makes the crystals, otherwise you get goo. But I'm still new at this so I don't know much.

warrensaged describes his excellent "room temperature, bestine recrystalization" in another thread (link). It seems to produce SUPER-HIGH purity in one pretty simple step. This tek is, of course, for DMT-freebase.

Humidity should have no nothing to do with freeze precip - period. Humidity is only water in the air and water FREEZES in the FREEZER. SWIM's freezer is not ultra cold and he lives in the most humid place in the WORLD. 0 problems so far.
