Freezing naphtha

Migrated topic.

Hey guys not been about here fora while but due to current life circumstances it's time to get back into. I've done my first pull in about a year everything was going fine. Used 1500ml of water 50g of bark (my last 50g) 50g of lye and about 90ml of naphtha.
I've done my first pull in to an air tight jar and stuck itinerary the freezer. It's been in there for about 24hrs now. The liquid has turned pretty cloudy so there is deffo spice in it. The problem I've got is that the spice won't stick to the jar it's not even forming "proto crystals". Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

There are a couple of things swim has noticed that might be a factor. He has had issues with Red naptha or similar issues that you are talking about in the freeze precip when he didnt use distilled water.
Also one thinks letting the base liquid cool before adding it to the bark helps prevent this.

a lot of people are blaming this on bark that is powdered up too fine but swim disagrees.

it may not help your current pull that you are having issues with but it may help prevent it from happening again.

: always use distilled water
: let base liquid cool before adding it to bark
: never shake it
: make sure the liquids are fully separated before you pour it off.
: Swim doesnt think it hurts to include an acidified soak neither.

good luck

Yes, next time try 40ml pulls. Also try to keep the naptha in your solution for a while gently turning it over/rolling it around, letting it seperate and mixing it again.

The less naptha you use the more saturated with spice your pulls will be. The more saturated it is the more chance you have for your crystals to crash out when you freeze precipitate.

Even after you do get your crystals it doesn't hurt to evaporate your naptha down and freeze again to retrieve more.

What ever you do don't give up!
Your spice is in there. Evaporate the naptha you have now down a lot and freeze it again.

Patience is a virtue!

Nice one cheers guys really looking forward to this. This is going to be my first trip in about 12mnths. Ah I'm so excited :d.
Peace.
