Another newbie question... i just picked up an 8th and after reading up on them before hand i look at them alot closer this time. This is only my second batch i've recieved and i wanna make sure i'm getting my moneys worth. :d Anyway i opened the bag and there seemed to be some sort of white furry looking stuff on them. Not on all of them but on the bottom of a few stems. I'm not sure if its a type of mold or if its what the shrooms grow on. I've seen alot of videos and pictures of them being grown and i know they start out as a white fuzzy looking stuff. And thats what it looks like is on them. But i'd rather be safe then sorry :? Seeing as its only growing in a select few spots. Are those shrooms still safe to eat? thanks. =]
 
that is probably just the mycelium(it should still bruise blue though). If it doesn't bruise or smells off, I wouldn't risk it but other than that you should be fine. Just to be safe, remove the fuzz before ingestion(that is if it bruises).
 
The white fungus should be bruising blue or the shrooms themselves should be bruising blue? :shock:
 
They are dried shrooms? If there is white moistish fuzz growing on them they have been improperly dried and the chances are its mould. Fresh ones can have myc growing around the base but on drying it shrivels to nothing.
 
Yea they are dried. I ripped off all the peices of the stems that had the little bit of white fuzzy stuff on them. I'm guessing it wouldnt be too safe for me to eat them anyway huh..?
 
They were ok. I ate the 8th and didnt get sick. But i didnt trip too hard. Just mild shifting and melting. Does anyone have any suggestions on good music to listen too while tripping?

You probably had some bunked out shrooms. I've used shrooms countless times and even an 8th still gets me going. I would look for a new supplier or something, or eat a lot more.

As far as music. I have an inquiry of mushroom music that never ends. Just find something you like.
 
From a mycologist's perspective, even if dried properly the typical white fluff patch at the base of the stem of the snack can, often times, dry fluffy or fuzzy. And down to the root of it all: if it's white & doesn't smell rotten like ass, it's okay to ingest. Any other colors (besides blue & some black from spore deposits), such as green, rust, or black (beware!! by this I mean that if it's a fuzzy-looking mold or growth of black) can range from stomach-ache toxic to deadly toxic.

A few other mushroom tips, myths, and knowledge bits:

-contrary to a select few retard's beliefs, the "gold dust" that is often found in small flecks on the tips of some mushroom stems IS NOT MAGICAL OR PSYCHOACTIVE IN ANY WAY! This is simply vermiculite (heat-expanded mica), which is a common growing medium that is not healthy to ingest in large portions.

-although blue-bruising on mushroom stems does generally indicate psilocybin content, excessive blueing of one's stems does not necessarily indicate a more potent mushroom. on the contrary, excessive blueing is the oxidation of psychoactives into the air & is generally caused by overhandling the mushrooms while fresh.

I listen to alot of metal such as Psyopus, Genghis Tron, and Hunab Ku. And the first time i took shrooms i started listening to Hunab Ku.. that turned into a very bad trip very quickly. I thought i was going insane. Thats why i was asking for better music to trip on. More chill stuff. Anyway thanks alot guys! :d
