The shadow of a glass man
I started blowing glass this past year, using a technique called lampworking. In contrast to furnace or offhand glassblowing, lampworking essentially consists of working with glass using a bench-mounted torch rather than a furnace with a gloryhole. I work with borosilicate rather than soft glass. At this point, I've got about 100 hours on the torch and am working on building a studio so I can spend more time working at it, as my mentor is working more sporadically these days.
The pictures in this thread so far present my progress from my very first day on the torch through September, which is the last time I was able to get torch time. In this post I've included my first class through the first two weeks of creations.
