....that opens in the form of many questions:

Why am I just now saying hello? Why am I saying hello at all?
Why did I take so long just reading threads I would come across doing google searches before deciding I'd join the Nexus? Why did I forget for so many Saturdays to remember to sign up? (seriously like months of Saturdays would go by where I would think about Nexus related topics every day of the week except for Saturday)
Why did I finally remember to sign up back in April of 2014 only to lurk for another 18 months?
Why do I feel torn between living the life I believe society expects and the life I hear calling me?
Why aren't there more people in my life that wish to explore the depths of consciousness?
Why did it take so long for DMT to enter my life?


I don't know the answer to these questions, especially the last one, but I hope to share and maybe discover with some of you some possible answers to these and many more questions.

I'd like to appreciate everyone in this community for the countless hours of meaningful, thought provoking reading that you've provided. It is my intent to contribute in a way that adds value and perhaps resonates with you.

Everyone feels the need to fit in, man! And society is where you need to exist (unless you up and get as far away from people as possible). But at the same time, why should that limit who you are and how happy you could be? I don't think there a serious choice here. You choose happiness right? Your calling. And then you say "ballocks" to society and surrounding yourself with a society that accepts you for you because you are you. You... You...

Uh

Anyways, I understand where you're coming from. Im an artist. Im a white guy with dreadlocks. Society doesn't accept me readily. I just don't care any more, its my world and my life, so why not live it for me and not them.

As far as my experience with psychedelics/entheogens, I've been exploring for 20 years. My first experiences were with LSD as a freshman in high school. It was the early nineties at that time and LSD was relatively easy to come by for most of my teenage years. I haven't kept track, but would estimate a couple hundred experiences with LSD.
In the late 90s, I enjoyed myself at many raves. Here, I would typically stick to LSD, but also had many experiences with ecstasy.
Mushrooms were available fairly regularly, but not quite as often as LSD. Eventually, as an adult, I discovered the ease of cultivating mushrooms. Several hundred mushroom experiences resulted from this realization.
When I became aware of Salvia, I was curious, and I explored that quite a few times as well.

The fact that I've always been drawn to altered states of consciousness is a major reason that I am surprised it took so long for DMT to come into my life. For whatever reason, it always seemed like some unobtainable substance to me whenever I would read about it.

It was after years of being curious about ayahuasca, that I started to come across threads here on the Nexus. I've had an ayahuasca experience now as well as dozens of DMT experiences. I'm very much ready now to explore extraction paths for myself, and am excited for the potential to explore as much as my heart desires in a near future.
