Greetings fellow travelers

Migrated topic.

Chocolate Sheikh

Rising Star
Hello, my name is Chocolate Sheikh and I came to this forum for chemistry advice. I hope to be a capable hand in the laboratory one day and produce much spice for my fellow travelers from the plants that are the living factories we are blessed to be surrounded by.
At this moment however my status as a rank amateur chemist is evident as my experiments are not going as well as they could be.

Welcome to the Nexus Chocolate Sheikh! :)

I hope you aren't planning on dealing what you make. That is something we do not tolerate and strongly discourage. Check out the Attitude Page to see what I mean.

So anyways, how did you first find out about DMT? Have you experienced it?

No plans to sell, only for friends and personal use. The "attitude" section is very informative, thanks for the referral!

Mesc HCl the 69ron way is the current project although a big zip of ACRB arrived from Hawaii the other day so elf spice is in the works. Not excited about working with VOC's as my fume hood access is limited. I have seen pictures on here of people relying on dust masks for respiratory protection... :(

HeloChocolate Sheikh,

Welcome to the Nexus.

It looks like you are going through the process of taking a good look around this place, which I always encourage.

You can post chemistry questions as they come up. For example in this area official extraction help thread - FAQ - All your basic questions and answers - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus . You can also jump into the chat for possible quick answers.

Yeah, I always strongly encourage sobriety, full stomach, empty bladder/bowels, good ventilation, proper preparation with tools and research, long sleeves and pants, socks and shoes, full painter goggles, a double cartridge respirator and chemical rated gloves. Also have vinegar standing by to deal with spots or spills. I wish everyone would practice home extractions this way, but alas we must always keep reminding how important safety is.

Most extractions are very easy and do not require a chemistry lab or much chemistry knowledge. You can find all the Nexus teks in the Wiki (link at the top left of your page).

Looking forward to getting to know you better . . .

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

If you can follow a cookie recipe, you can extract DMT. No real chemistry knowledge is required. I'll flesh out my very, very simple recipe just to show you how easy it can be:

50 grams lye in a jar filled with 600 milliliters distilled water, shake shake shake; add 50 grams MHRB, shake that mother, set it aside overnight. Add your naphtha, then give the jars a hot bath (very warm water, not boiling) for a couple hours, gently swirling every so often until the naphtha turns olive oil yellow: pull naphtha into separate jars and put 'em in the freezer for twenty four hours. Bang, DMT.

It can be that easy, or you can try any other number of methods, there are many. I like the simple way, it's always worked for me, but read up on teks to see what vibes with you.

Sorry, Just the way you worded it kind of sounded that way.

Honestly. There isn't much fumes from a lot of the teks. Especially if you have good ventilation or a fan. I still used a dust mask sometimes, but only during a small portion (basification.) I have never had any issues and I've never even gotten a good whiff or anything when wearing one. It is more than enough in my opinion.

The best protection you can have is full clothing, rubber gloves, and eye-ware. And it's only necessary when doing pulls and basification. Which for me (I use A/B teks) is a small portion of it/

There is no such thing as too much ventilation though. And having an overkill mask can be safe and all, but I think that they work fine. At least for A/B extractions. Maybe the STB ones could need better since you have to go overkill on the basic chemicals.
