Hi everyone,

Wasn't sure where to post first, so this seemed like the most natural place. I'm Eegah! (exclamation point not required), which may already tell you a bit about my interests? Perhaps from a not too distant future, next Sunday AD? Like a lot of people, I've lurked around here a bit and finally decided to jump in.

A bit about me: well, I love wit, sci-fi, and absolutely corniness/schlock, so yes, I am a MSTie! Besides this, I am an avid reader of all genres (I adore Frank Herbert, as I can tell many of you do as well), an amateur audiophile, Gary Gigax acolyte (3.5e, anyone?), hardware geek (I'm typing this using a machine I built myself), really a geek in general. My study/pursuit is mathematical physics. I have two wonderful cats, as well!

I also have a history with psychedelics (shocking, I know) which has been largely positive, in no small part due to my great concern with RESPECT. Respect for the molecule, the experience, and my own private temple. This has allowed me to be a participant in some truly glowing ceremonies (in solitude and also with a few close friends) that have taught me quite a bit about spirituality and mind. Without going into it too much, this part of my life is a big reason I'm the person I am today.

On my relationship with the spice:
To date, I have only had two experiences with the spice in particular (so you could say we're taking it veeery slowly), though my interest in DMT stems very deep in my life due to my interest in entities from beyond our realm. This started for me when I was a child, and I had an exceptionally vivid dream (the first I can remember) in which I was visited by aliens/machines who attached me to their computer, then proceeded to stream data into my brain in the form of equations and charts. Though I lacked any ability to comprehend the stream, I was told it was a 'preview' of the knowledge contained within the universe. I was then unplugged after my 'taste', and woke up. Ever since, the notion of contact has been very interesting to me...

A few years ago, I read Dr. Rick Strassman's 'The Spirit Molecule', and learned about DMT formally. Some friends and I then had the good fortune to come across the spice while at a music festival, which we saved so we could take it at home, in a less chaotic setting. Needless to say, our smoking technique was pretty terrible, and none of us had a breakthrough. Still, we enjoyed mild euphoria and I experienced incredible CEVs, including a stone head that seemed to me as an Aztec god, radiating the entire electromagnetic spectrum at me. I was awed, and decided I wanted to explore further.

About a year later, I acquired the materials to make an ayahuasca brew. I took it, along with my gf and her brother, in a secluded camp area nearby a reservoir. We blessed the camp site with sage, and asked the spirits of the plants to guide us through the unknown that we might take back a little wisdom to our day-to-day lives. To keep it brief, our cups were filled to overflowing, as they say, and though again this was not a breakthrough experience for anyone present, we were all humbled by the greatness of these plants.

Which brings me to now, about a year or so later. After having a lucid dream, I decided it is time to try out an extraction tek and make some spice of my own! I also figured it was time to stop lurking and register here, in preparation for the breakthrough experience I hope to achieve. Basically, it seems like you folks are the crowd I've always wanted to hang out with: explorers with a concern for safety, responsibility, and respect, without exception. I can't think of anyone I'd rather have to help heal the shards of a shattered human ego :)

Anyway, I'm sure these post are far too long, so I'll just say thanks for having me and I hope I can contribute to your wonderful community!

Its exactly the same for me i think as it concerns psychedelics..
I also had positive and amazing experiences with them due to my respect to them i think..

Many thanks for the warm welcome. I'm glad you feel the same! I've definitely had my negative experiences along with all the good ones, but the frequency of these for me has been pretty low, and I think this has a lot to do with the level of ritual/sacredness I tend to surround my psychedelic explorations with. Do you practice meditation at all before/during/after?

Yes, for me if you give your respect to the substance, you will take it back i think! And it counts even for smoking weed..
Yes i meditate before not exactly before using something, but in the same day yes :)
I meditate anyways though :)
