Growing Caapi

Does anyone have any experience/advice for growing Caapi? I live in Houston, TX which is in the USDA Hardiness Zone 9A/B. I've found a few online vendors selling seeds but was wondering if it is feasible. I do know passionflower grows really well and may start that this spring.

Are you growing indoor or outdoor? It seems like Gulf/Deep South could support outdoor plants. I live up in the mountains and have two thriving caapi plants growning in my apartment. I started these from rooted cuttings and they have been very successful. I give them lots of filtered light and keep the soil moist, watering 2-3 times per week. Caapi is really easy to grow, and you can make homegrown Changa!

Thanks!

In my efforts to become more self-sufficient, I've thought of growing my own Caapi in addition to Psychotria Alba and fungi. I've also thought of cannabis but I'm not really into that 'school of thought' plus the hassle of the law, possibility of urinalysis, etc. It's a wonderful life, isn't it?

As far as indoor/outdoor growth is concerned, I'd like to try both. From what I've read Caapi is very hardy and can withstand the occasional extremes the GC area has. So far our winter here has been mild, but the summers can be hot, although I'd imagine native Caapi environments have more humidity along with similar heat. I'm not sure about the light requirements, though. What do you use for soil since you grow indoors?
