Calling Dorge, Shiva13 and Kushman if you still post here! You two were the only Nexians who posted success stories with evodia, albeit years ago.

Shiva13 extracted quite a bit, but very little if any was 5meo and could have been similar alkaloids. Said it was active. Other posters suspected it was mostly oxide:
I have obtained some extremely high quality evodia fruits and everclear. Both were expensive and are in limited supply, so I have to make wise decisions with the materials at hand.
My theoretical plan is to tincture the evodia fruits, and then evap down to a goo that can be used sublingually (and ideally worked into lozenges). Smoking is out (quit since pneumonia), eating runs the risk of metabolizing into bufotenine, and boofing is just something I don't want to court until I'm comfortable with the potency and dosing of what I pulled.
MY QUESTION: is there a chance that the 5meo in the evodia fruits could have converted to the oxide form?
If this is possible, could it account for the varying reports of alkaloids in the fruits? E.g. I think it was Trout who found some 5meo, but other studies didn't, some have speculated if one of the ethnobotanists goofed a decimal, there are a lot of mixed messages in the literature. Others have speculated that some testing of materials produced false negatives because the fruits were only being tested for 5meo and not the oxide form.
I hands-down believe evodia is a viable source. I haven't posted here in ages, but I have since amassed a mountain of college textbooks on the subject of Chinese herbal medicine. According to Chen & Chen, evodia is active, moderately toxic when taken orally with hypertensive symptoms, and will affirmatively produce hallucinations. [My hypothesis: at minimum partial toxicity could be mitigated by a different ROA, because the text's description of high dose toxicity tracks with oral bufotenin intoxication symtpoms. There is also a recipe for an antidote in text and I am fully willing to take this one for the team.]
Ok, back to my question. Is it possible that 5meo in the whole fruits may have oxidized? Asking this because, would this change how I do the pull? I saw something about performing a zinc reduction, but at what stage would I attempt this? Before tincturing (and powder the fruits) or after?
I don't have sources saved/accessible at this PC, but if I get ANYWHERE with this experiment, I will link all the studies I waded through and post scans from the texts.
As a side note, I think it's interesting AF 5meo makes its way into skincare products. Maybe I will open a psychedelic beauty bar in retirement. Goals?

Well SWIM has smoked the fruits quite a few times with a vaporizer and its worked fine. you definitely get a light 5MEODMT experience from it. So it does work. its just concentrating it that needs to occur. But with the fruits you have to vap it because it has other alkaliods in it that make you feel odd...
But they are very active...
